Hey guys! For the first half of March, our #CBBxManiMonday theme is green, and you know I had to put together a couple of on-the-nose St. Patrick's Day nail art looks. Last week, if you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen my International Women's Day nail art, which was a rich purple smoosh that really evoked a stone like feel, and for this week's Mani Monday I really wanted to recreate a similar look using green tones and I feel like I've put together something that really has a stone look to it. And because I'm me, I added a little bit of stamping on top of it.

Because these deep teal shades tend to be stainers, I started this mani with a thick coat of Yellow Stopper Base Coat and then went in with one coat of Londontown Lakur in Chivvy Along. Chivvy Along is a rich, deep teal créme that can really move between blue and green depending on the light it's under. To be sure that I maintained the more green look, I decided to pair it with different shades of green for the smoosh.
For the smoosh, I brush a thick base of Chivvy Along onto my nail art mat and then added two decent sized dots of Born Pretty Store Cat Eye Polish in Fairbank Arts. In the center of each of those dots, I added slightly smaller dots of O.P.I. This Isn't Greenland (my favorite green polish of life). Using my smallest dotting tool, I swiped back and forth across all of the polish to create my dry marble. If you're going to do this, make sure that you don't overdo this step or else all the lighter colours will get lost in the deep base. I then used a fairly large clear stamper to pick up the polish and transfer it to the nail. This works best if you give the polish about 10 seconds to dry a little bit on the stamper before you stamp.
For my stamping, I decided to go in with BeautyBigBang XL-067, which is an all St Patricks Day all the time type of plate. I really, really love the Beauty Big Bang plates and this one has definitely been working really well for me as I've been doing these themed mani's.
I decided to use Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Go For Gold for my stamping because it's a really neutral gold that doesn't lean too yellow. For my first and pinkie fingers, I used the same garlands of clover image (bottom left of the plate) that I used in last week's mani, because it fills the nail but still looks somewhat delicate. Because I loved the base on my two middle nails so much and didn't want to cover them too much, I then decided to just do a single shamrock at the tip of my accent nail, using the lone shamrock from the HAPPY ST PATS DAY image on the plate (top row, second from the left).
To finish my mani and add a lot of shine, I finished with a generous coat of Seche Vive Top Coat and voila!
