Ipsy May 2014 + The Body Shop goodies

by - May 13, 2014

I swear, when I saw the spoilers for this month's bag, I was incredibly excited and felt pretty confident that I would be getting a bag I'd be really, really happy with. Unfortunately, this really wasn't the case. In fact, I'm kinda bummed about the contents of this month's bag. So promising and then... So disappointing.

Anyway, let's see what I got...

EVA NYC Therapy Session Hair Mask : Value: $2.85
So this would be the one product that I actually am looking forward to trying. I'm a little bit obsessed with hair masks lately and the fact that this one has argan oil in it and is supposed to repair and strengthen all hair types are the kinds of claims that I like to hear. We'll see how it goes, but this one is definitely the bright spot in this bag for me.

Derma E Microdermabrasion Scrub : Value: $16.25

This is fine. Good value. It smells pretty good. I'm going to give it to my cousin, because I think she'd really like to give it a try. Like I said, it's fine, but I got a microdermabrasion sample last month and it irritated the hell out of my skin and I'm just over it at the moment.

Olive Lips Refreshing Rosemary Moisturizing Lip Balm : Value: $5.95
Again, this is fine. It smells kinda gross, but it feels pretty good on the lips. I'll probably throw it in my purse and use it from time to time until I lose it. Probably could have given this away to someone who doesn't have quite so many lip balms as I do... but I really wanted to try it and see if I liked it, so it has my lip cooties on it now. Mmmm, lip cooties.

Hang Ten Classic Sport Natural Sunscreen SPF 50 : Value: $2.16
I got some sunscreen in a Memebox recently and am actually excited to get to use it. This might get tossed in my camping bag in case I'm going to be on a boat and I need to slather myself in sun protection, but the chances are more likely that it's going to go in the Goo Hoarding drawer. Eh, I dunno. It's fine, too, I guess.

Pacifica Mineral Eyeshadow Duo in Duo #2 : Value: $????
(Can't find the price anywhere, but it's full sized)
Again, it's fine. The colour that I received is definitely not my style, as I don't tend to wear a lot of cool shades on my eyes really at all, so I was pretty bummed about that. And the pigmentation is not as on point as I expected after reading some reviews about other Pacifica eye products. Eh, this will probably go to my mom, since at least she likes to wear purple on her eyes... but I'm not even sure she'll get much use of it, since she has better quality shadows in her collection as well.

So like I said... All in all, pretty let down. The spoilers had my hopes high.

That said, it's a real good thing that my Ipsy bag wasn't the only package that came in the mail today... PACKAGESSSSSS!!!!

THE BODY SHOP
Brazil Nut Body Mist
Brazil Nut Beautifying Oil
(3) Brazil Nut Soap

So last week I got an email telling me that all Bath & Body Products were going to be 50% off for one day... And since I had already been planning on going on a Brazil Nut binge sometime in the near future, I just went for it. All of these things will probably end up living in the boyfriend's bathroom, particularly the soap and the oil, since all he has are MAN PRODUCTS and my skin is not a fan of any of that when I shower there.

I love the scent of the Brazil Nut products from The Body Shop, so there was no way this package was going to let me down.

XO.
