Sometimes there are products that I try out from the drugstore that I really want to feature here on the blog, but they just don't seem to warrant their own review post. SO, I decided that I want to start doing some round ups of these one off products that I've been trying out because I definitely do feel like they're worth giving my review on. If this is something you're interested in seeing more of in the future, please do let me know in the comments!

Without further ado, let's look at some Lips, Lashes, and Brow products from the drugstore that I've been trying out recently, shall we?

Hey guys! I'm super excited for today's review, which features the brand spankin' Marc Jacobs Beauty Velvet Noir Mascara & Primer*. I was lucky enough to get to try this out as a part of Influenster and I can't even tell you how excited I was about it. Admittedly, I don't try a lot of high end mascaras these days, because I have a lot of drugstore favorites that really get it done for me and it's hard to justify the spend. That said, there have been a handful of high end mascaras that have really stood above the rest for me and I was eager to know if this one would as well.

I have to admit that Almay isn't usually a brand that I really pay attention to in the drugstore, not because I don't like it or have had particularly bad experiences but just because it never grabs me. That said, in the past I've tried out some of their mascaras and I've really loved them, so when I got a chance to try out the Almay Liquid Lash Extenders Mascara*, I was looking forward to it and hoping that it would work out for me.

When it comes to brands that I really have an affection for, there's usually one type of product in their line up that I'm always willing to try. Whether it's a brand that's really worked out for me with foundations, like Maybelline and CoverGirl, or a brand whose eyeshadow formula is top knotch, like Wet N Wild, as soon as a new product is released I'm absolutely willing to try it. When it comes to essence, which is a brand I have a really strong affection for as a whole, that product is mascara. At the drugstore, there is no brand that does mascaras as well as essence, in my opinion. So, of course, when I was perusing my local Superstore and saw that new essence #LOTD Lashes Of The Day Super Volume Mascara, I was on board to try it out.

For me, lashes and brows really help to frame the face and give a perfected look even if I'm doing really natural makeup for the day, so I'm constantly looking for products that are going to take care of those two areas without too much fuss but with the results that I need. I mean, really, who doesn't want beautiful brows and lashes? For me, the lashes are all about volume and the brows are all about precision and a little bit of fullness. There can definitely be some preference involved when it comes to these types of products, so I always like to make my personal tastes clear when I talk about them.

Now, let's get to the favorites, shall we?

Confession time... I'm a bit of a mascara junkie. I swear, at any given time I have at least 5 or 6 mascaras that I'm actively using and then inevitably a bunch more that I have on hand but am not really reaching for. It's an obsession - a constant search for the perfect mascara. Mascara is one of those things in makeup that I think can be really subjective, with different people looking for different things in their products. I personally need a mascara that's going to build some serious volume, hold a curl, and stay put even though my eyes, particularly my left one, water like mad. Recently, I've been testing out the Mirenesse Secret Weapon Supreme 24 Hr Mascara* and I had high hopes for it.

I have to admit that I generally stick to lower cost mascaras because I go through them quickly and I do like more drugstore formulas, but my all time favorite mascaras are from high end and luxury brands. Recently, as a part of the Canadian Beauty Bloggers Network, I got the opportunity to try out the new Givenchy Noir Interdit Mascara*, which definitely fits into the luxury category, but also stands out for a design innovation that I've personally never seen before.

Weirdly enough, 2016 will definitely go down as the year that I actually learned to apply winged liner. And of course, once I learned how to apply it well, it became a staple in my beauty routine and one that I'm starting to feel a little bit naked without. This category is definitely full of hardcore ride-or-die favorites because I don't mess around when it comes to the types of products I like for liner, lashes, and brows.

Shall we proceed? Keep reading for my favorites!

Over the past several years, I feel like CoverGirl has firmly taken the mantle of being the best brand at the drugstore for solidly good mascaras. It started with the original Lash Blast and they've just been building on it for years. I haven't loved every mascara CoverGirl has put out, but I've definitely got my favorites - and I think that's true for a lot of people. The newest addition to the CoverGirl mascara lineup is the So Lashy! Blast Pro Mascara* and as soon as I saw the completely insane brush, I was 100% in to try it out.

So, I wear a full face of makeup pretty much every day and things like foundation and concealer and eyeshadow are all pretty much year 'round must have's for me, but in the summer there are a few things that I don't tend to reach for so much in the winter that are suddenly on the Must Have list and I decided to write about them for you guys today. Now, this isn't so much about specific products so much as types of products, because it's definitely more about the type of product than the product itself that makes it a Summer Must Have for me.

So if you're interested in seeing the Top 5 things that I absolutely must have in the summer, keep reading!

Storytime! On the first day of the recent Sephora VIB sale, this was the first thing to end up in my cart. I felt like it was a great deal and a great way to try out some new products from tarte. Unfortunately, as I spent the day going back and forth about how I was going to get myself to Free Shipping, it sold out and convinced me to try and be good and not buy anything just because of the sale. Of course, on the last day of the sale it came back in stock and I was able to see online that it was in stock at my local Sephora... so I had to buy it, right? Cosmically, it was a sign. Ahem. Yes, I justify such things this way.

Anyway, I picked it up and I wanted to give my first impressions of the products here quickly - and hopefully it'll still be in stock for people to purchase!

I feel like new mascaras are constantly coming out in the drugstore. Maybe it's because I have a truly ridiculous number of mascaras on the go, but I find that they're the products that I'm least likely to pick up. I've gotten very mascara picky over the past couple of years and so I tend to stick with the ones that always get it done for me. However, as I was looking over the new products from Hard Candy, I noticed that there were a couple of new mascaras in the mix and the Big Fat Lashaholic Mascara jumped out at me for some reason, so I picked it up! I've been really putting this to the test for the past couple of weeks, and I'm ready to give a review!

I have to admit just how surprised I was that blinc made products other than their flagship mascara, which I've used in the past and really enjoyed. I feel like I should have known that they had a whole line of eye products, but really didn't. So when I got the opportunity to try out some of their products in the Discovery Collection*, I was really excited to see what they had to offer.

There are some brands that I've been dying to try but just haven't gotten around to yet for whatever reason, whether it be local availability, cost or just that I haven't had the chance yet, and for a long time NUDESTIX was one of those brands. Recently, I was able to cash in some of my credit card points (which had been sitting around untouched for ages) for a kit with a good selection of different products from the brand. I decided to review them all in one big round up and let you know my thoughts on each product individually, as well as my overall feelings about the brand.

I'm going to spoil this post right now and tell you the ending in the third sentence. Are you ready? I LOVE THIS MASCARA. I probably wouldn't have thought to try this mascara if a friend of mine hadn't picked it up for me as a part of my Christmas gift. Not because I would have assumed anything about it, of course, but because it just wouldn't have occurred to me. I've always thought about Annabelle predominantly for lip products and bronzers, but as I try more products from the brand I'm finding myself more and more drawn to the brand as a whole and eager to try more from it. I plan on reviewing more products from Annabelle in the future, but for now let's talk about the mascara. The one that I love. Shall we?

If you're like me, there's nothing like the draw of getting a bunch of deluxe sized samples of higher end products that you've never tried before. I rarely make it through a lot of my makeup and I always want to try new things, so little kits filled with travel or deluxe sized products are absolutely perfect for me. I've been sneaking looks at this kit for a while now, but I've never been overly drawn to Smashbox products in the past so I resisted. However, I've recently been hearing amazing things about the 24 Hour Photo Finish Shadow Primer and figured this was a perfect opportunity to try it out - along with a few other items from the brand. At $22CAD for 4 deluxe sized products, this is a stela of a set.

Green mascara??? Yup, green mascara! I've actually been tiptoeing more and more into colored mascaras recently and I have a pretty decent little collection going. For me, summer is the time to play with a bright pop of color on the lower lashline and there limitless possibilities to the looks you can create with those bright pops. I suppose Limitless Lime is a great name for this shade in that case, isn't it? Honestly, I wasn't entirely sure what to make of this when I first opened the tube and got a look at it, but all it took was a little creativity and I figured out exactly the best way to use it for me!

I have to admit, I felt pretty sure that basically all I was going to have in this month's empties was sheet masks. It's been a crazy month of sheet masks in my life. Ever since I received the BioRepublic sheet masks in June's Ipsy bag, I've been on a tear of using them pretty much every other night. Anyway, I opened the bag that I tuck products into when I'm finish with them and was actually surprised at how many things I finished... but I think it's because a few of the things in the bag have been in my collection for so long that I only used them a couple of times this month in order to finish them. Anyway, let's get onto to the empties along with mini-reviews.

So this whole Monthly Mascara plan didn't work out so well... But I'm determined not to give up on it, even if it only ends up being every couple of months. The problem is that I, like so many other makeup junkies, find something that I really like and it pains me to try something new... until there's something really shiny placed in front of me. Anyone else like this?

Anyway, Essence recently released a new mascara and I saw a lot of promotion of it and really wanted to try it out. Monthly Mascara is a good excuse, right? Anyway, I've been using this most of this month and I'm definitely ready to give my thoughts!

I decided I want to try a new monthly feature on the blog, when I realized that I do in fact tend to try out at least 1 new mascara each month. I also discovered that I still have half of my 2013 Sephora Lash Stash completely untouched. How did this happen, you ask? Well, I tucked it into the stool that I use at my vanity and kind of forgot about it, for the most part. Luckily, I had the foresight not to open any of the tubes before I was ready to use them, so they should still be alright to use - as long as I start using them right away. Hence, Project Monthly Mascara. Also, I feel like there are pretty much constantly new mascaras coming out a the drugstore, so there's always something new to try. Featuring a different mascara each month for review should be no problem, right? Because this is going to be a monthly feature, I'll try to get sample sizes of higher end mascaras to keep trying out once my Lash Stash has been depleted so that we don't entirely focus on drugstore brands at that point. I always like to try sample sizes of high end mascaras, because it really feels like a waste of money if they're not outstanding.

So for the first mascara in this series, we're going to take a look at the Buxom Lash Mascara in Blackest Black, which was featured in the 2013 Lash Stash. I had tried one other Buxom Mascara a couple of years ago, but never this one. So how did it hold up? Keep reading to find out!
