Well... 2020 was supposed to be the year that I cared about my hair... but then 2020 happened and that sort of went by the wayside for the better part of the year. However, as we've started to settle into the madness I've gone back to really thinking about my hair (with some surprising revelations, which I'll get into in a later post.) What sort of restarted my hair care focus was that for about the past month, I've been lucky enough to have had the opportunity to try out the NatureLab Tokyo Perfect Shine Shampoo & Conditioner* and I've really, really been loving both the experience and the results.

Hey guys! I have to admit, I'm way more excited for today's review than I thought I would be when I first started trying out the products. As I've mentioned before, I decided that 2020 was going to be the year I care about my hair - and care for it better - and with the first quarter of the month officially gone, I feel like I'm actually sticking to that particular resolution. For about the past month or so, I've been using the AVON Elastine Propolithera Damage Repair Hair Care Products* whenever I wash my hair and I'm super, super excited to share them with you guys!

So, I decided at the beginning of this year that 2020 was going to be the year that I care about my hair. For years now, I've had a sort of pattern that I've pretty consistently maintained - cut my hair shortish (just above my shoulders generally), get annoyed about not being able to put it up, grow it out long, wear it in a messy bun for several months and/or do some serious damage to it with bleach, and then cut it again to start the whole process over. This year, I decided I want to do things differently, actually learn different ways to style my hair and actually employ them, take better care of my hair overall and... yeah, just care about my hair. So I've been trying out a bunch of different products, playing with different styles, and actually really enjoying my hair overall and I wanted to share a handful of affordable products and one tool that I've been trying out recently.

In 2020, I've made the conscious decision that I'm going to pay more attention to my hair, to actually style it more often instead of just keeping it in a messy bun about 80% of the time and also to take better care of it. I'll admit, when I first saw the price tag on the Aquis Hair Towels and Hair Turbans, I thought it was absolutely nuts, I really did. But I finally decided to pick one up when I saw it at Winners for a lower price and really test out whether or not this towel is worth the hype or if the high price tag just creates the illusion of being a better product.

I hate washing my hair. How's that for the start to a blog post? It's true, though. Having wet hair is just the grossest feeling for me and in the summer I would pretty much rather do anything that pull out a blowdryer, so dry shampoo is basically a summer BFF for me. Recently, I got to try out a new option from one of my personal favorite dry shampoo lines, the Dove Fresh Coconut Dry Shampoo*. Dove's lineup of dry shampoos have actually been a staple for me for a few years now and I always have a bottle of the unscented one on hand, but I was really excited for the Fresh Coconut scent because I love a beachy smelling summer scent in my hair.

Hey guys! Is anyone surprised that I'm SUPER excited to share the new hair care release from Live Clean with you guys? As you guys know, Live Clean is an absolute staple in my house - and I've definitely converted some friends and family as well - and I'm always down to try out their new products. On it's face, the new Live Clean Super Fruit Waters Quenching Curls Shampoo & Conditioner* probably aren't necessarily intended for my hair type - since, you know, my hair is straight and limp and doesn't even have a natural wave to it - but I was curious to try it out anyway.

DryBar is one of those brands that I've had my eye on for a while but never pulled the trigger and picked anything up from them. Honestly, it's mostly because I'd rather spend my high end budget on skin care and makeup and I tend to be a messy bun and drugstore hair care kind of girl. That being said, there are definitely some higher end hair care products in my collection that I love. Ultimately, after seeing really, really great reviews and wanting to try out co-washing, I decided to grab the DryBar Double Standard Cleansing Conditioning Foam and I've been trying it out.

Back when I was in high school, I absolutely loved Aussie hair care products. I would buy bottles for myself and hide them when I got out of the shower so that neither of my brothers would use them up on me. It's been a long time since I used any Aussie products though and I've been curious to see if they still live up to how I used to feel about them. Recently, I was perusing the hair care aisle and I noticed that my old favorite Aussie 3 Minute Miracle had a new look and a few different varities. I decided to pick up the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Total Miracle Deep Conditioner and give it a try and I wanted to share my thoughts on it here!

Hey guys! It's that time again - yearly favorites! You may have noticed that I didn't actually do Monthly Favorites posts in 2018, which was really because I was finding it difficult to keep choosing a selection of favorites every month that would be different from the last. I'd love it if you'd let me know if you'd like me to go back to Monthly Favorites, because I'd be happy to do it, I think I just might alter the way that I do it a little bit. Anyway, since I didn't have those monthly posts to reference, I really had to look back through the blog, through my social media and just through my memory to really figure out what the products were that shone brightest in the past year, and every single product on this list is absolutely one that I would recommend.

Hey guys! It's that time again for another Live Clean Giveaway! You guys know that I love Live Clean products and they're an absolute staple in my life, whether it's their bath and body products or the hand soaps I'm so obsessed with. However, for years now I've been a lover of Live Clean Hair Care Products and I'm sure excited to be giving away a six piece set featuring three of the different ranges that Live Clean offers in their line!

My hair is a constant struggle, it really is. Sometimes it's great and other times... Not great. Really not great. I think that's why I'm always interested to try out new products for my hair, I'm always on the lookout for the product or products that are going to be game changers. Recently, I had the opportunity to try out the Phillip Adam Apple Cider Vinegar Shampoo & Conditioner* and I was definitely excited to give it a go. This is a First Impression rather than a normal full review because I only received sample sizes, but I still really wanted to tell you guys about them.

During these hotter months of the year - and trust me, here in Winnipeg June has been a bit of a scorcher - I definitely find that I have to wash my hair more often than I do in the colder months. During most of the year, I wash my hair every third day because I find that it helps maintain the natural oils that keep my hair and scalp from feeling dehyrdated. However, during the warmer months I have to wash my hair quite a bit more often, so I have to choose hair care products that account for that shift. Recently, I've been trying out the Dove Derma+Care Anti-Dandruff Smoothing Shampoo & Conditioner, which I was really excited about because I've had such good luck with their more hydrating hair care products in the past.

Admittedly, dry shampoo isn't as much a part of my hair care routine now as it used to be, but I definitely still reach for it probably a couple of times a week and I'm always on the lookout for the perfect dry shampoo for my needs. Recently, I saw a whole bunch of new OGX Dry Shampoos on the shelves - not really sure at all how long they've been out - but I decided to pick up the OGX Refresh & Full+ Biotin & Collagen Dry Shampoo because, honestly, I liked the smell and I find that products containing biotin tend to work really well for me.

If you've been reading this blog for a while, you know that one of my favorite brands for bath, body and hair care is Live Clean. Not only have I been consistently impressed with the products I've tried and able to find the ones that work just right for me in the line, but I also feel a lot better about rinsing these products down the drain knowing that they leave out the chemicals that are damaging to the environment in their formulas. What I'm trying to say is that, of course, I was super excited to try out the new Live Clean Mineral Clay Rebalancing Shampoo & Conditioner*, as I always am with new products from the brand.

Here's a true story... I am literally willing to try just about any hair care product if it smells like coconut. Well, that's not entirely true. I am willing to try just about any hair care product if it smells like nice smelling coconut. I don't like a really chemically coconut scent, I want something that has that rich, gorgeous, transports-you-to-the-islands type of scent. Obviously, I was super excited to try out the Marc Anthony Coconut Hair Care Products*. One of the things that always draws me to Marc Anthony products is that they're sulfate free, which is important to me personally because I do have coloured hair and I want it to last.

Ahhhh hair! I was struggling with how to open this blog post, because I don't even really know how I feel about my hair at this point. About a month ago, I decided to lop off a foot of hair and get rid of pretty much everything that was damaged from my perm last year. Note to self... Never get a perm again. Currently, my hair is uncoloured, shorter than I've had it in years, and taking a little bit of getting used to. Time to try a new set of hair products, right? Recently, I've been testing out the Marc Anthony Grow Long Strengthening Hair Care* line and it seems like basically the perfect time... since I really, really want to grow my hair out and keep it nice and healthy and strong in the process.

Recently I got the chance to try out some hair, bath and body products from Avalon Organics. Admittedly, until this point I don't think I'd tried anything out from the brand, though I had seen them in stores many times, so I was excited to give them a go. I really love getting the chance to try out a selection of products from a brand so I can really get a feel for what they have going on in a way that testing out just one or two could never give me.

So, if you're interested in my thoughts on the products, keep reading!

Ever since Sephora launched the Rewards Bazaar, I've been anxiously awaiting a perk that I really wanted to get my hands on - and that I was able to grab before it sold out. The Rewards Bazaar can be pretty cutthroat and a lot of things sell out really fast. Anyway, because I'd been wanting to try a lot of hard products from the brand, I decided to pick up the Bumble and bumble. Top Picks perk for 750 points. Considering this is well over a $50 value, I'm pretty happy that I grabbed it. I was pretty thrilled that it actually came with a really great neoprene travel bag that I'm definitely going to be putting to use during my upcoming trip as well!

Hey guys! For my last day of Earth Week here on the blog, I wanted to focus on one of my favorite and most used enviromentally friendly brands: Live Clean! When it comes particularly to products that I'm going to be rinsing off and washing down the drain, it's always been really important to me that I be mindful of what I'm putting out into the environment, so Live Clean has become a brand that I reach for constantly when it comes to those types of products. I've definitely got some favorites from the brand and I wanted to share them with you guys along with a GIVEAWAY!

When it comes to hair care products, I've definitely noticed myself getting more and more picky. A lot of what I try just isn't quite right and there are actually some old favorites that just don't do it for me anymore, so I'm always on the hunt for the perfect hair care products to do exactly what I need. Because my hair type is fine and leans towards being dry and I currently have a beachy wave perm, I've recently been struggling finding products that won't weigh down my curls but also won't leave my hair feeling stripped. Recently, I've been trying out the Live Clean Biotin Extra Body Shampoo & Conditioner* and I've gotta say... the perfect chord seems to have been struck for my hair with these products.
