GIFT GUIDE: Mother's Day Pampering Gifts

by - May 06, 2016

When it comes to Mother's Day, I like to let my mom know how much she means to me by making it clear that I think she needs a little pampering. It doesn't hurt that my mom's birthday is pretty much always the same week as Mother's Day - and, in fact, the same day this year! Like any other time, gift giving is such a personal thing and the best gifts are the ones that seem to call the receiver's name, but I think that gift giving occasions that are meant to celebrate the care someone has given you through your life call for the type of gift that offers that care back. That's why I decided to do a gift guide of pamper specific gifts for mom!

If you're looking for some inspiration for what to get your mom this year, keep reading!

Have you ever noticed that a lot of mom's put everyone before themselves and rarely give themselves a real treat? I don't know about you, but my mom is definitely one of those. What better for someone who puts everyone before themselves than a really beautiful, luxury skin care gift? High end skin care can be a little like art, with beautiful little bottles just dying to be displayed, and I feel like a gift of these would be absolutely perfect for the mom who deserves a little luxury pampering. Look for products with rich ingredients, luxurious scents and textures, and beautiful packaging to make for a great Mother's Day treat!

Pictured here: AMOREPACIFIC TIME RESPONSE Targeted Eye Masque* ($140), which both feel amazing and luxurious on the face and work to brighten, hydrate, firm, smooth and regenerate cells to correct wrinkles. AMOREPACIFIC Green Tea Seed Treatment Oil* ($195), an oil that smells and feels absolutely luxe on the skin and uses natural Jeju Island green tea seeds to hydrate, protect, and restore luminosity. The beautiful Limited Edition bottle also absolutely looks and feels like a treat.

As I was thinking about Luxury Skincare gifts, I 100% recognized that the budget for Mother's Day gifts for most of us isn't quite at the luxury level we'd all like it to be, so I thought... What about all those beautiful deluxe samples that I have piling up in my beauty room? Most of us beauty junkies have them, after a great many purchases at places like Shoppers Drug Mart and Sephora, and rather than hoarding them they make a great addition to a mother's day gift when wrapped in a pretty little bag. So if you want to spoil mom, but you just don't have the budget for it, this is a great option!

Pictured Here: Various skincare and fragrance samples from my collection, including Elizabeth Arden Prevage Serum, Elizabeth Arden Super Booster, Strivectin Advanced Retinol Intensive Night Moisturizer, Clarins Super Restoring Remodeling Serum, Clarins Extra Firming Day Wrinkle Lifting Cream. And to be honest, I don't actually know what fragrance it is - but I love the scent and the bottle is really pretty!

Bath & Body gifts are a staple these days for moms and one that I think a lot of us get a little tired of giving. However, they do make a great gift and I think a good way to give these types of gifts is to look for something pretty and unique that mom can display in the bathroom. Honestly, there's a million options for this type of gift, but I would personally recommend picking up something from somewhere like L'Occitane, which has absolutely beautiful - both to look at and to use - products that mom will love. My recommendation (unsurprisingly) is anything from their Almond line of bath & body products.

Pictured Here: Dickens & Hawthorne Fresh & Natural Nourishing Milk Body Butter & Bath Salts. I picked these up at Winners for the sake of this post, so I haven't tried them yet and can't speak to how they are. But look how cute!

When it comes to at home pampering, I don't think there's anything more enjoyable than giving myself a manicure and pedicure on a Sunday afternoon, which is why decided that a mani/pedi gift for Mom would be a great gift. A couple of great nail tools, whether you choose newer technology or a more traditional pumice and nail pile, a couple of great nail polish shades, and some lovely hand and foot creams and you're all set. Admittedly, this is the gift I'm going to be giving my mom this year and I think she's going to love it!

Pictured here: Emjoi MICRO Pedi with Flex Roller*, which I like to call a power sander for your feet that helps to keep everything smooth and summer sandal ready. Emjoi MICRO Nail Electric Nail Polisher*, a dual buffing and shining tool for easy at home manicures. I can speak to the fact that this shines your nails right up and leaves them looking smooth and gorgeous. Lise Watier Nail Polish in Fairy Taupe. Trust Fund Beauty Nail Polish in I'm Kind Of A Big Deal.

Honestly, when it comes to buying gifts for Mom, it's all about giving back and taking care of her the way she took care of you! There's amazing choices at every price point to make mom feel loved and pampered!

I'd love to hear in the comments how you celebrate Mother's Day with your mom - or alternately, what you're doing for Mother's Day this year if you yourself are a mom!
