ADULT TOYS: LELO SONA Review

by - October 22, 2017

Hey guys! I clearly have something a little bit different for you guys today. Recently, I've been feeling like I need to shake up my content a little bit and include some non-beauty related content that is still targeted to women. I'm not entirely what that's going to look like and I suspect that there might be some growing pains, but I'm hoping it will ultimately make the blog more fun and interesting both for me and my readers. I've always really admired bloggers who feature and review adult toys on their blogs and I believe really strongly in being sex positive and encouraging women to explore the sexuality through play - and really through whatever feels right for them - so when I got the opportunity to try out the LELO SONA Sonic Clitoral Massager* and feature it on the blog, I decided to go for it.

If you're interested in my thoughts on this product, keep reading! If not, I completely understand and hope you'll check back tomorrow for another beauty post!

About:
SONA stimulates the entire clitoris - even the parts you don’t see - with gentle sonic waves instead of conventional vibrations. This whisper-quiet sonic massager offers an entirely new orgasm, a prolonged climax after a sensual build-up. Its smooth, waterproof design is made from a single piece of premium silicone, making SONA incredibly easy to clean and soft to the touch. And because it doesn’t directly contact the clitoris, it can be used to generate multiple orgasms over and over again without any discomfort.

The LELO SONA* is brand spankin' on the market and unlike anything I've ever seen before. Initially, I thought it was going to be like other sex toys I've seen (but never tried) that have a similar head on them but use suction than pulses, but a little bit of research informed me that I was wrong about that. Admittedly, this took a little bit of experimentation for me, but once I figured it out... Woooooooow!

Before we talk about the experience, let's talk about the design, shall we? The LELO SONA is small and curved in a way that makes it quite comfortable to hold. It is mostly silicone, but has a really lovely gold metallic disc on the back. It has three button controls on the front side, well designed to easily control the intensity and the stimulation mode. At the tip is a small circular well where the pulsation actually happens. When you turn it on, you can see the plate at the bottom of the well moving in time with the pulses. I find that this toy is a little firm and I would personally enjoy if it was a little bit softer at the tip, but that's not a deal breaker for me. It's fully waterproof and I found it quite easy to clean. It is USB rechargeable and comes with a silky pouch to store the SONA in. Overall, I really like the design of this product, though I think I would personally go for the black version over the cerise pink.

Though it did take a little bit of trial and error to figure this out, once I did I found it was quite easy. Rather than placing this directly onto the skin, which actually stifles the pulsations, this works best when you hover it just above the skin and move it very slightly. And it is INTENSE. Personally, I found that I liked the setting that had a kind of builds for each wave rather than one that was constant, and I did like to keep it at the lowest setting. I also found that I had to be careful about the angle, because if you do press it to the skin it will stop working and that can be something that feels like an interruption. On the other hand, though, if you find that you just need to take a moment, it's handy to just be able to press it against the skin firmly for a little break. If that interruption would be an issue for you, you could also take a look at the LELO SONA Cruise, which has a feature called Cruise Control which reserves 20% of the power so that the stoppage doesn't happen when you press it firmly against the skin.

True to what it claimed, this did give me a build up that was really pleasurable and made orgasm more intense. And by intense, I mean toe curling, almost wanting to pull it away but not really type of intense. Like I said, I prefer the lightest setting personally and I found that it gave me the best results, just on the right side of too intense.

Overall, I think this is a pretty great toy and one that a lot of people will probably really like. If you're someone who's interested in trying something really different, I think this could be a great option, or if you've been wanting to try a sonic toy. Honestly, for me, I think this has really inspired some curiosity about trying more of these types of toys in the future.

The LELO SONA Sonic Clitoral Massager* is currently available at an introductory price of $89CAD, though the regular price is $189CAD. This is definitely a luxury sex toy, my friends. If you're really interested in it, I'd probably recommend you snag it before the price goes up. If you're interested in the LELO SONA Cruise Sonic Clitoral Massager, it's currently selling for $129CAD.
