REVIEW: Teen Crush Wassup Problem Foun Pact
In the past year or so, I haven't been as wrapped up in Korean beauty products as I once was, but recently I got the opportunity to try out some products from new brand Teen Ccrush. I'm going to be posting several reviews of products from the brand, but the first one I really wanted to get to is definitely the most unique to me, the Teen Crush Wassup Problem Foun Pact*. For me, complexion products are really where K-Beauty stands out and as someone who is pasty pale, I'm lucky enough that the shades always work for me.
For my full review, keep reading.
I feel like I might be a little bit older than the target market for the Teen Crush products - obviously it's been a LONG time since I myself was a teen - which I think is underscored by the super adorable bubblegum pink and silver packaging. However, these products definitely don't have the types of formulas that you'd think of for something like kid's makeup. And quite frankly... I kind of love the really cute branding and packaging because it feels fun and different to me.
Now let's talk about the Wassup Problem Foun Pact*, which claims to blur pores and offer long lasting coverage with a matte finish. After seeing this online, I was expecting it to be a cream foundation, so I was really surprised to find that it's actually a putty. There's not a lot of putty complexion products on the market, and it's kind of hard to explain the texture of it to someone who's never felt it before. The best comparison I can make is to the Colourpop Super Shock Shadows. It has that firm but squishy texture that sort of moves around the pan together.
This product comes with an application sponge - not my favorite way to apply any complexion product to my whole face, but really great for bringing on the go with you for touch ups throughout the day since it sits in the compact. For all over application, I prefer to pick this up with the flat side of a blending sponge and I find that it just makes it overall easier to apply and blend to the face. I was a little worried about being able to easily pick it up on the sponge, but I haven't had any problem transferring it from the pan to my skin using this method. I personally tend to drag my sponge over my face when I apply my base, but I think if you want to get the best pore filling results from this product it's best that you bounce or press your sponge into the skin.
Upon application, I'd say that this is a solid medium coverage that blends well into the skin. Though it does claim to have a matte finish, I would personally say that's matte in comparison to the very dewy/glowy products that a lot of Korean complexion products boast. It's definitely not shiny, but I'd personally have put it into more of a natural finish category myself. One thing that really impressed me about this formula is how easy it is to play with the coverage. You can sheer it out to a more light coverage or build it to a solid medium and it doesn't ever feel cakey or heavy on the skin. It also blends really easily and sits really smoothly on the skin.
While I would say that the wear time is quite good and I didn't find this breaking up or fading too much on me throughout the day, I did find that I needed to blot and apply some mattifying powder after about 5-6 hours of wear because my skin did start to look quite shiny at that point. I would actually really recommend trying this to someone with dry skin, because it offers that coverage and a natural finish while still bringing a lot of moisture in the formula. If you have oily skin, I think you might want to stay away.
Overall, I'm pretty happy with the TeenCrush Wassup Problem Foun Pact*. It definitely won't be for everyone and I don't love that I do start to get shine by the afternoon when I wear this, but I think it's a really unique formula that offers good coverage and a really nice natural finish on the skin. I would recommend this for people with dry skin or uneven texture who are looking for a hydrating base foundation with medium coverage and a natural finish that's easy to take with you on the go.
