MANI MONDAY: Rainbow Gradient Mandala Nail Art
Hey guys! Since it's the last week of June - Pride Month! - I wanted to share one more rainbow gradient with you guys this week, a little more on the nose with the #CBBxManiMonday Brights theme for June than the very similar rainbow gradient I did last week. I'm kind of obsessed with all of the rainbow nail art and makeup looks I've been seeing for the past month and I really love seeing the beauty community get behind and support the LGBTQIA+ community!
Keep reading to see how I got this mani!
I verrrrry rarely start with a white base, but for this mani I did one coat of Color Club French Tip polish to make sure that the colours really popped and had impact. For the rainbow shades, I wanted to keep them quite primary but I ended up going with a more teal shade of blue. Like I did with last week's rainbow pastel nails, I only used the three primary shades and depended heavily on the blending to get the rainbow and I think it turned out pretty good. The shades I used were Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Revobluetion & Glow With It along with Rimmel 60 Seconds Nail Polish in Rapid Ruby. Once I had gotten the opacity that I was looking for, I went in with a coat of Glam Polish Anuenue, which is a little bit of a life saver when it comes to getting a really smooth blend on the gradient.
When stamping over brights, I always find that using a black stamping polish always really amps up the look, so I grabbed for my Maniology Straight Up Black Stamping Polish - a staple in my arsenal. For the image, I decided to go with this mandala image from the BeautyBigBang XL-057 Stamping Plate because I felt like it gave a really sort of batik kind of look to the nails.
Once the stamping had dried, I finished with a coat of Essence The Gel Polish Top Coat and, as always, voila!

I'm kind of in love with this technique - if you couldn't tell - and I'm definitely on a gradient kick at the moment. I always forget when I don't do them for a while how easy and impactful they can really be. If you're looking to try out some rainbow nails this summer, I highly recommend this technique even to those of you who are just starting out in nail art.
Be sure to head over to Cosmetic Proof, See The World In PINK, and Tea & Nail Polish today to see what they did with the Brights theme this week for #CBBxManiMonday!
