12 NAILS OF HALLOWEEN: Black & Orange Gradient Spider Nails
When I was planning out my #12NailsOfHalloween this year, I knew that I wanted to do a really classic orange and black mani and I knew that I wanted to use Superchic Lacquer's Juicy as my base. If there's a more classically Halloween nail polish, I genuinely can't think of it, and I knew that it had to get some serious love this month. I actually tried a couple of different things out with this polish, but ultimately I really fell in love with how it worked in a gradient with black and I just went from there.
Keep reading for a closer look and to see how I got this mani!
For this mani, I started with one coat of Essence Black Is Back on all of my nails because I really wanted to pop the holo but also keep the tip really inky black. Next, I went in with a gradient of Sinful Colors Black On Black and Superchic Lacquer Juicy* (available in Canada from NailStuff.ca). I did three coats of the gradient with my triangle makeup sponge to try and really get a smooth transition and a strong density of the orange.
For the stamping, I started by using the BeautyBigBang04 Stamping Plate along with Superchic Lacquer Juicy to apply the spiderweb image to the tip of my two middle nails. Next, I went in with BeautyBigBang XL-091 and Maniology Straight Up Black Stamping Polish for the spiders image at the base of the nail. I feel like doing the stamping in reverse to the gradient and not bringing in any other shades really gives this a cohesive look.
Finally, I finished with a coat of Seche Vive Quick Dry Top Coat and voila!

I feel like the cool thing with this mani is that you really could use this really bold gradient base and pair it with so man different stamping designs - or really, just leave it on its own because it's plenty Halloweeny all on its own. And, seriously, you guys... If you're in the market for a gorgeous orange polish, check out Superchic's Juicy because it just... I mean, LOOK AT IT. It's so gorgeous that I just kind of want to stare at it for a while and drool.
Don't forget to keep checking back every few days through the rest of October to check out the tail end of #12NailsOfHalloween!
Thanks for reading!
