MANI MONDAY: Warm Pink & Burgundy Nail Art

by - February 18, 2020

Whoops! I'm a little late on this week's #CBBxManiMonday, but it was a long weekend and I'll admit I got sucked into resting and starting a Sons Of Anarchy rewatch with my partner, so I didn't feel all that inclined to sit down and do something with my nails. I actually ended up sort of throwing this week's nail art together at the last minute and I struggled a little bit with our Pink & Red theme, but it all worked out in the end!

Keep reading to check it out!

I actually started this mani with my middle two nails and sort of flew by the seat of my pants - although I really did want to incorporate the textured glittery shade on my pinkie for this mani all along. For the middle two nails, I applied two coats of OPI Hue Is The Artist? from their Mexico City Spring 2020 Collection*, which is an almost white with a very sublte hint of pink to it.

For the stamping, I wanted to layer a pale pink with a deeper pink and I was really drawn to this image from the Nicole Diary L07 Stamping Plate because I think it fills the nail well and layers in a really interesting pattern. I started by applying it using Trust Fund Beauty I'm Kind Of A Big Deal, which transferred surprisingly well for a traditional polish. Next, I flipped the image and applied it to the nails using Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Just In Wine

For the pinkie, I applied two coats of Color Club Open Your Heart, which is a warm pink shade with a textured finish and a really gorgeous gold shimmer. For the pointer finger, I applied two coats of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Just In Wine. Finally, I finished with a generous coat of Seche Vive Quick Dry Top Coat and voila!

All in all, this is actually a pretty simple mani and I'm fairly happy with how it turned out. I think I'm getting a little bit burnt out on pink though, so I'm definitely looking forward to next month and a new theme so I can play with different colours that might spark a little bit more creativity in me. That said, OPI's Hue Is The Artist?* is such an amazing base for nail art - I know I'll be reaching for it often!
