CHRISTMAS NAIL ART Jewel Toned Holo Christmas Lights Nail Art

by - December 08, 2020

Hey everyone! So... The stamping image I used for this mani basically broke my brain with possibilities because there were so many ways I could approach it and colour combination that I could go with... and then it occurred to me to reach for the Color Club Halo Jewels Collection and use these jewel toned linear holo polishes for an absolute glitter bomb on my hands. So. I did.

Deciding on a base polish for this mani was actually quite a process, but ultimately I decided to go all in on the holo of it all and reach for Color Club's Break It Up, which is a silver linear holo with holo hex glitters in it. I applied two coats of this polish as my base and let them dry completely before moving on to the reverse stamping.

For the stamping, I used a black stamping polish to pick up this bulbs image from the What's Up Nails B022 stamping plate and then used a fine detail nail art brush to fill in the bulbs with Color Club's That's Rich, Under Pressure, and What A Gem. Generally with this type of image, I'm pretty finicky about how I place the colours, so I did use a dotting tool to quickly mark out which bulbs would be which colour before actually filling them in. To transfer to the nail, I used a coat of Orly Bonder Base Coat and let it dry down to tacky for maybe a minute before transferring the image to the nail.

Once the design was cleaned up and crisp, I applied a layer of water based top coat to seal in the design and then finished with a coat of quick dry glossy top coat and voila!
