NAIL ART: Simple Saturated Fall Drybrush Nails

by - November 22, 2021

Once upon a time, I had a hard time finding green nail polishes that I love, so anytime I saw a green nail polish I would get super excited. These days, finding green nail polish in a variety of different shades and finishes and price points is actually pretty easy - and I have A LOT. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if green is the color I have the most of in my collection, if we're being honest. Anyway, when it comes to the Fall Colors theme for this month's #CBBxManiMonday, there just had to be a green and I knew the perfect one to use, one that was fairly new to my collection in a formula that I really, really love from the drugstore!

Clearly, I needed to have Precious Cargo-go! from the Essie Expressie range in my collection, right? It's a dusty olive green créme shade that I think would fit just perfectly into some camouflage. I really, really enjoy the Expressie quick dry formula and have found all of the polishes I've tried from the line to be really creamy in texture and high coverage, with a really unique brush that makes a quick application with a crisp edge really, really easy.

For this mani, I applied two coats of Precious Cargo-go! to all of my nails and let them dry down completely before moving onto the nail art.

I honestly don't really know what inspired me to grab for these three super rich stamping polishes, all of which are new to my collection and ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS, but I just sort of went with it. Initially I was planning on adding some stamping, but in the end I loved the look of the drybrushing all by itself so much that I felt like it really didn't need anything else.

To do the drybrushing, all I did was to clean off the brush really, really well so that there was very little polish on it and then dragged it from the tip of the nail at an angle in the direction of my thumb. I alternated the order that I applied the polish in to add some dimension and also so that there was a subtle gradient of colors moving across the nails.

Once I was happy with my drybrushing, I let the design dry down a little bit before applying a generous layer of quick dry glossy top coat to all of my nails and voila!

I really feel like this drybrushing technique is a great one to have in the arsenal because it's a really quick and easy nail art design that anyone can do and doesn't require any special tools. It's also really versatile and easy to customize to fit different seasons and occasions. Highly recommend giving this one a try - just make sure you choose really pigmented shades for your drybrushing to make sure it shows up.

As always, be sure to head over to Cosmetic Proof and See The World In PINK for more Fall Colors themed nail art for this week's #CBBxManiMonday!
