CHRISTMAS NAIL ART: Red & Green Graphic Holo Snowflakes Nails

by - December 07, 2021

For today's mani I just really, really wanted to go all in with the full on red and green glittery vibes. I mean... it's the holidays and as much as I'm not a full on glitz all the time type of a girl, this is definitely the time to just go for it. When I sat down to do this mani I actually had a completely different idea in my head and the only part of my plan that actually made it to the finished product is the polishes that I used. But hoooo buddy, they are stunning, stunning, amazing polishes that feel to me like they were made to shine at Christmastime.

Keep reading for more!

If there are any indie polishes that I would recommend to literally anyone who wants some beautiful, amazing Christmas-y polishes, they would definitely be these two. Infrared, one of the Kelli Marissa collab shades, is this really bold cherry red jelly packed with gold shimmer and and holo flakes. I legitimately can't imagine this shade of red not flattering literally any skin tone, especially during the holidays, and it has that intense sparkle that you can't (or at least I can't...) resist at this time of year. Everest** is an absolutely stunning deep, cool green shade that is absolutely packed with holo flakes and packs such an insane punch. Honestly, I feel like photos don't really do either of these shades justice because they're just that gorgeous and impactful.

For this mani, I started with two coats of Infrared on my first, middle and ring fingers, and two coats of Everest on my pinkie and thumb and let them dry down completely.

With these two base polishes packing such an intense punch, I didn't want to overdo the design part of it so I decided to keep it really, really simple with images from the Nicole Diary 120 stamping plate - a snowflake themed plate that has gotten a TON of use by me since I bought it for last year's holiday season. For my first, pinkie, and thumb, I just chose one snowflake for each nail and applied it towards a corner as an accent. For the two middle fingers, I used the same image for both and filled in each side of the line with one of the polishes - in this case, I kept the red on the side that has the bulk of the snowflakes because the pigment in the green polish did discolor the stamping polish slightly. For my middle finger, I applied the image horizontally and for the ring finger vertically. I feel like, by doing it this way, it actually does give the feeling of it being two completely different images, and I love that.

Once I was happy with my stamping, I sealed it all in with a smudge free top coat and then I finished with a generous layer of quick dry glossy top coat to really make the most of those stunning polishes. And voila!

I very, very sincerely can not tell you how much I love these polishes and I feel like I could have just applied them without any nail art and they would have had amazing impact for the holidays. Sadly they might be all sold out for this year's holiday season, but these are polishes that I very, very much recommend getting your hands on for next year's holiday season because they're stunning and timeless and and and...
