NAIL ART: Graphic Mauve & Berry Geometric Nails

by - January 05, 2022

The beginning of the year is always a weird one for me when it comes to nail art, because after being so wrapped up in really specific themes I find myself a bit in limbo. There's a part of me that just wants to play and experiment and be entirely free of themes and then there's another part of me that sincerely has no idea where to go from here. That being said, this year I definitely had some new-to-me nail polishes to play with along with some stamping plates that have been hanging out in my collection for a while now, so I decided to just experiment a little, which is where today's nail art design comes from.

When I first saw spoilers of the Jen & Berries Winter In Sunnydale collection, I immediately knew that I had to get my hands on the shade Snowfall in Sunnydale. This shade is described as a white crelly with a mix of white and holographic flakes that is intended to sparkle like freshly fallen snow and I can confirm that it absolutely 100% does do exactly that. This is one of those polishes that I might have to grab a backup of because it's just so absolutely stunning and right up my alley. I must say, J&B does white crelly polishes absolutely beautifully, but this one jumped to being my favorite immediately.

For this mani, I applied 2 coats of Snowfall In Sunnydale to all of my nails and let them dry down completely before moving on to my stamping.

Initially, my plan for this mani was actually to do all of my nails using the images on middle finger, but in the end I decided I wanted to add more interest and design to the overall mani so I only did that image pair on my middle finger and thumb. For the rest of that mani, I paired these two sort of scattered triangle images that ended up being really versatile to work with. I decided to go with a sort of taupey mauve for the solid triangle images and paired it with a rich burgundy for the outline images, which I think paired really well together. To place the scattered images, I just sort of went random for the solid base image and then placed the outline image where it felt complimentary. I feel like this is a design that you can't really mess up, honestly.

Once I was happy with my stamping, I sealed it in with a nail art top coat before finishing with a generous layer of glossy top coat for shine and volume. And voila!

I have to say, I'm so thrilled with how this turned out and I'm actually feeling really inspired by this design. I think one thing that KADS does really well with their stamping plates is these smaller images that you can really play with and I've got a bunch of stamping plates from them waiting to be tried out and experimented with.

Also, I can not say enough good things about this base polish. If you haven't checked out Jen & Berries yet, I highly, highly recommend it because... just stunning!
