HALLOWEEN NAIL ART: Bloody Ghostface Scream Nails

by - October 23, 2023

Like a great many people of my generation, I watch Scream and generally the entire original trilogy every Halloween season and I always feel inclined to do some Ghostface nails to go along with my mini marathon. I've done some hand painted ones once before (I will be the first to tell you that my hand painting skills are mid at best) but it was only this year that I finally got a stamping plate that featured a Ghostface image, so of course I had to do them. There was literally no choice.

Because the color story of the stamping for this mani was going to be black, white and red, I decided to go with a base polish that also features all of those colors. He Forced Me To Ruin My Dress by Jen & Berries is a white crelly that features black white and red hex glitters in various sizes and makes a really great base for mani's in this color scheme.

I started by applying 2 coats of He Forced Me To Ruin My Dress to all of my nails and let that dry down.

Being that I'm still fairly new to layered stamping using the Clear Jelly Stamper plates, I didn't want to make this one too complicated so I just went with simple stamping. On my outer nails, I applied this sort of grungy brick image. On my middle finger I went for a bloody hand print and a the word "SCREAM". And finally, for my ring finger I did the layered Ghostface image along with a bloody splatter to just bring it all together.

Once I was happy with my design, I sealed it in with a nail art top coat and then finished with a layer of matte top coat to smooth everything out and bring down the shine. And voila!

I've gotta say, I'm pretty happy with how this mani came together in the end. I think the color story is really fun and the whole slasher movie vibe really sings. Now to go watch all of the original trilogy with a hot chocolate and cozy blanket!
