HALLOWEEN NAIL ART: Nude Minimalist Spider Mani

by - October 10, 2023

Today's mani is another one of those that was inspired for me by one that I saw on Pinterest. I would link to the artist directly, but even though there was a watermark I can't seem to find the original artist. Even though this is very, very much not a design that I would normally gravitate towards, I was so obsessed with the simplicity of it and how impactful it ended up being as a result that I had to put together my own version of it. I did bring it a bit of my own personal style to the design, as I always prefer to, but I think I stayed pretty true to the inspiration.

Fairly recently I discovered my absolute perfect sheer nude polish. The degree to which is matches my skintone is pretty much insane and the formula is just absolutely *chef's kiss*. I suspect that Cirque Colors' Georgette would probaby suit a wide variety of people and I highly, highly recommend it if you're in the market for a sheer nude polish in this type of shade.

As is my preference with this type of polish, I decided to sandwich a flakie topper between two layers to get a bit of texture and lit from within glow as well as to camouflage any imperfections in my natural nails. I started with one coat of Georgette, then added one coat of Sally Hansen's Moonlit Top Coat, and then finally finished with another layer of Georgette and let that dry down.

For the spiders, I was reminded of a mani I did a couple of years ago using the Whats Up Nails A012 Happy Halloween Stamping Plate. Specifically, there are two spider images that I think work pretty perfectly together that I though would be perfect for this mani. I alternated the image with the smaller one on my pinkie and middle fingers as well as my thumb and then I used the larger spider image on my ring and pointer fingers.

Once I was finished with my stamping, I sealed everything in with a nail art top coat to prevent smudging and then finished with a matte top coat to bring down the shine and give that naked nails look. And voila!

Honestly, I'm sort of  madly in love with this mani even though it's so far outside of my usual style. In fact, I would even go so far as to say that I wouldn't mind making this a more regular type of style that I do here on the blog. The nude with the black stamping and the matte finish just feels very chic to me - even tough there are legit spiders in the design. Love!
