HALLOWEEN NAIL ART: Playful Pink Spiderwebs Nails

by - October 02, 2023

Ever since the first year I started doing Halloween nails here on the blog, which feels like it should be so many fewer years than it actually is, I've done some version of the same mani. At this point, there's something just so nostalgic about it that I always like to start out the year with it. Last year I did a pretty classic black and orange version of this design, so this year I decided to go in a bit of a different direction with a bright thermal base and white stamping for a more playful design.

As soon as I received Whats Up Nails' Temperamental Iris in PR, I knew that it was going to feature in this year's Halloween nails. Even though it isn't necessarily on the nose as far as Halloween colors are concerned, I still think it's a perfect color for the season. It's this beautiful bright fuchsia to purple thermal packed with cool toned flakes and I think it really gives a fun Halloween vibe in this context.

To begin, I applied two coats of Temperamental Iris to all of my nails and let those dry down before moving on to nail art.

For the stamping, I went in with one of the first stamping plates I think I ever bought, which is the Born Pretty BP-L099 Stamping Plate. I'm not even sure if you can still find this plate, but you might be able to track it down somewhere and I personally think it's a genuinely solid plate to have for Halloween nails (though that could be just because of my affection for this design.) Anyway, I applied the full cover spiderweb image to my outer nails, alternating the direction of placement and the smaller single spiderweb image to my middle two fingers at opposing corners. Normally I apply the teeny little spider in the same color as the webs, but this year I decided to apply it in black and I think it turned out pretty cute.

Once I was happy with my design, I sealed it in with a nail art top coat and then finished with a generous layer of glossy top coat for shine and volume. And voila!

In my opinion, there is absolutely nothing wrong with repeating nail art you've already done before - especially if it's a mani you really, really love. For me, I suspect that as long as I'm doing nails on the internet, the Halloween season will bring some version of this mani and I'll be stoked about it every single time.
