HALLOWEEN NAIL ART: Smoky Holo Tip Spiderwebs Nails
I am definitely someone who tends to revisit design styles that I've done before, though I do try to change things up at least a bit rather than just straight up recreating designs I've done in the past. One design that has become a sort of staple for me is the one I used for today's mani and it's one that I feel like I've done countless versions of over the past few years since the first time I did it. For today's mani I will admit that the changes are somewhat minimal, but I still absolutely love this mani!

For the base for this mani, I wanted to do my usual sheer jelly + flakie topper sandwich design becasue I feel like it's sort of the perfect base for the rest of the mani. For my sheer polish, I decided to go with Cirque's Dove Jelly, which is a beautiful sheer neutral grey with just a gorgeous, smooth, even formula. I started by applying one coat of Dove Jelly. Next, I went in with perhaps my favorite flakie topper, Starrily's Unicorn, which is a clear polish packed with a rainbow of iridescent flakes. Finally, I applied another coat of Dove Jelly to sandwich that flakie polish and I let those dry down before I moved on to the next step.
The feathered out holo tip is really what makes this design style sparkle for me and I've used Color Club's Beyond to create it several times - including the very first time! To get this sort of feathered effect, I used a makeup sponge to apply the polish like you would with a traditional gradient design, but rather than blending it into another color I apply a clear polish to allow it to get that smooth blend. I did two passes of sponging for this mani to get to my desired opacity.
For the stamping, I used three different spiderweb images from the MrFox-LF010 Stamping Plate. These spiderweb images feel a little bit more flowy than a lot of similar images and I think that really works with this design. I alternated the direction of placement of the images so that the webs felt like they were coming from opposite directions each time.
Once I was happy with my design, I sealed it in with a nail art top coat and then finished with a generous layer of glossy top coat for shine and volume. And voila!

I very sincerely still love this design style and don't see myself stopping doing versions of it any time soon. I think it's particularly effective at this time of year since the combination of the black holo polish at the tip and the spiderweb stamping manages to be both pretty and spooky at the same time, which is always the goal.
