UNBOXING: Ipsy June 2015

by - June 15, 2015

If you read my spoilers post, you might remember that I was a little disappointed and underwhelmed when I saw my Glam Room this month... But I'm not afraid to admit when I was wrong, and now that I have this bag in my hands I'm actually pretty excited with what I have to work with here. First off, I love the actual bag this month. The theme this month is Swim Into Beauty and I feel like the bag represented that pretty well. It's an all black bag, textured on the front with the Ipsy logo and neoprene on the back, with a neon coral zipper. This is one that I'll actually use this summer! However, we all know that what's really important is what's inside the bag...

1. NYC Liquid Eyeliner in Black - Full Size - Value $3
I've reviewed this eyeliner previously and I was pretty disappointed with it since it's been so hyped on on social media. I feel like it's one of the most overrated drugstore products. That said, I'll try using it again and see if I like it better the second time around. That sometimes happen, right? Different expectations help, too.

2. BioRepublic Skincare Sheet Mask Trio - Full Size - Value $15
I've got a lot of sheet masks in a seemingly ever growing collection lately, but I love using them so I'm always happy to have more. I like that all three of these are different and they all have very soothing ingredients. One of my favorite times to use a sheet mask is when my skin is feeling irritated or just generally freaking out, so soothing ingredients are definitely a plus. Can't wait to try these!

3. J. Cats Beauty Liptittude 24/7 Hydrating Lipstain in Blow Your Mind - Full Size - Value $6
I was holding off judgement of this when I saw that I would be receiving it, because I had never heard anything about this product... but you guys, this is AMAZING. To me, this is more like a liquid lipstick than a stain, although if you tap it lightly on the center of the lip and blend it outwards with a brush or your finger it does give a beautiful stain to the lips. It's really thick and creamy with pigmentation that is just pretty much insane. I'm not even joking, I want this in every color and if I could get J. Cats Beauty locally, I would be investing like crazy. So good.

4. Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer - 0.25oz Deluxe Sample - Value $10
I mentioned in the spoilers post that I've tried this primer before and didn't really like it. I'm reserving second judgement until I try it again, but I'm not holding out huge hope for it. It just doesn't do it for me. However, in looking for the value of this product I discovered that this is one of those products where you get a lot more bang for your buck buying the travel size over the full size. Just saying!

5. tréStiQue Color & Smudge Mini Shadow Crayon - Mini Size - Value $10
Lately, I've been loving the ease of eyeshadow crayons, so I'm really excited to get this in my bag. This is a deep matte brown that I think will look beautiful in the crease or for a deep chocolate smoky eye. The packaging is also pretty adorable, with the lid looking like a pointed pencil. I really can't wait to use this product.

Value: $44

Overall, I'm really happy with this bag as a whole. I'm willing to give the two products that I wasn't a fan of before a second chance in hopes that they'll impress me, and the other 3 products are definitely ones that I either completely love or am looking forward to trying. Ipsy definitely still has its hold on me! Check back next month for spoilers and another Ipsy unboxing!
