FAVORITES: October 2015
Honestly... Normally I feel like the month has passed really quickly and it's insane that it's already time for another favorites post, but this month feels like it actually passed at a pretty slow pace. It hasn't been a bad month - especially since Halloween came and went in Winnipeg without any snow on the ground. We're going to call that a big, fat win. It was even nice enough on Halloween night that we considered having a bonfire - We decided to play Cards Against Humanity inside rather than going outside, but it was nice enough that we had the option. Anyway, this is a very makeup heavy month for favorites, which I love, because I've really been extra loving doing my makeup every morning this month.
So... Check it out!
1. LANEIGE Water Sleeping Mask (Review)
Like I said in my review, this product absolutely lived up to the hype that I'd heard about it for the past few years. I'm still using it multiple times a week (possibly more than I'm actually supposed to) and I feel like it's really one of the biggest reasons why my skin is on a really good path right now. If you haven't tried this yet... What're you waiting for???
2. Clean & Clear Deep Action Cream Cleanser (Review)
This one was absolutely a revelation to me. I know, that's probably a weird thing to say, but I absolutely love washing my face with it and am already anticipating the repurchase that's going to happen once I get through this tube - That never happens with cleanser!
3. Ben Nye Luxury Powder in Cameo
I meant to review this and I never actually got around to it. Another cult favorite, I've had this in my collection for only a few months now and I really enjoy it. I like to use this to set my undereye concealer because I feel like it doesn't look dry or cakey.
4. RIMMEL Match Perfection Concealer in 230 Fair/Light
Recently, I was in the drugstore and saw this on sale and realized I hadn't had it in my collection in a long time, so I picked up another tube. It's really, really good! I feel like this concealer deserves a lot more attention. I'm not sure if it had shade adjusting technology in it, but I feel like it just disappears on my skin with the barest amount of blending but still really covers my dark circles. I'm so glad I grabbed this again.
5. Kryolan for Glossybox Blush in Glossy Rosewood
I've been reaching for this blush really consistently over the last month and I'm still just as obsessed as ever. If you've read my Addicted To Blush TAG post, you'll recall that this is pretty much my all time favorite blush. It's just perfection. It has a beautiful texture, applies really beautifully to the cheeks with just the right amount of pigmentation, and wears a really long time. I need more Kryolan blushes, me thinks.
6. Covergirl The Super Sizer Mascara
Look for a review of this in the coming days! What I will say now is that I really didn't get the hype on this mascara the first time I used it, but the more I've been working with it, the more I've been loving it. It builds volume like a beast!
7. Stila Not So Nude Palette
I rearranged my palette storage this month and found this kind of tucked away in the back, so I pulled it out again... And I have no idea how it got out of rotation. I love the shades and performance of the eyeshadows to an insane degree, and Kitten really is a pretty perfect highlight. This was Limited Edition, I believe, but if you ever can get your hands on it, I highly recommend it. Or, if you're like me and this is tucked away in a drawer somewhere, it's worth pulling it out again.
8. L'Oreal Brow Stylist Plumper Brow Gel
Can I just say that I love that the drugstore has gotten on the tinted brow gel bang wagon in the last year? Honestly, I find myself reaching for this one more often that some of the higher end options in my collection pretty consistently. The thing I love about this one is that it gives me really good hold along with that bit of tint, so I really don't have to worry about my brows looking crazy.
9. Sephora Jem & The Holograms Liquid Lipsticks in Like A Dream & To The Rescue (Review)
I wanted this set so badly that I had dreams about it, so I was THRILLED when these two quickly became two of my absolute favorite liquid lipsticks. They're matte, but they don't set to that fully powdery type finish, so they're incredibly comfortable while also giving me that long wearing matte lip that I love. If you haven't grabbed this set, I highly recommend it so get it while you can!
10. Milani Color Statement Moisture Matte Lipstick in Matte Naked (Review)
I think this might have made the list for one of my all time favorite drugstore lipsticks. The shade is perfect, I love the finish and how it feels on the lips, and it wears really, really well. I can't even tell you the number of people I've told that they absolutely need this lipstick in their collection, because it's phenomenal.
I was going to do Non-Beauty favorites this month, but nothing really jumped out at me... I will say, however, that my favorite day of the month was definitely Halloween. Aside from the typical Halloweenery, me and my best friend attended C4 Comic Con here in Winnipeg and it was an ABSOLUTE BLAST. This was the first year I ever dressed up for Con (as Doctor Who's Eleventh Doctor, complete with fez and bowtie - both cool) and I had a great time.
Thanks for reading!
