2015 BEAUTY FAVORITES: Haircare Favorites

by - January 11, 2016

Ahh haircare. I admit, I'm not the most knowledgeable when it comes to hair care, but I do know what I like and what works for me. I don't do a lot of hair posts on the blog, but I actually do pretty consistently try out new products and the collection of various hair products both in my bathroom and on my vanity would likely make it appear that I'm much more of a hair enthusiast than I really am. That said, I definitely did have some hair favorites this year that kept my coiff taken care of and I wanted to share them with you guys along with the rest of my favorites this year!

So check out my 2015 haircare favorites below!

1. Live Clean Coconut Milk Moisturizing Shampoo
I'm going to be specific with the shampoo here because it was my big love from this pair and I would likely buy it alone and go with a slightly more intense conditioner next time I pick it up (after I work through some other Live Clean hair products that I'm trying out!) I find that this particular shampoo does a really great job of cleaning my hair without stripping it, leaving it feeling soft and silky and my scalp feeling refreshed. For me, it's actually pretty hard for a shampoo to actually impress me, but Live Clean seems to have a way of formulating shampoos that I really genuinely enjoy.

2. OGX Hydrate & Defrizz Kukui Oil Conditioner
I haven't actually used this in a while, but with the winter getting colder I have no doubt that I will be picking it up sooner than later. It's a great conditioner for really deeply hydrating your hair and keeping it tamed during the cold winter months. My hair is quite fine, but I have a lot of it and that tends to mean that when the air is really dry my hair is a disaster of dryness and static. This conditioner really helps me to tame that. And it gets HUGE bonus points for the fact that it smells absolutely amazing.

3. L'Oreal Professional Mythic Oil Nourishing Masque
This is another one of those products that I always seem to go back to - even if it is a little spendier than I prefer for my haircare to be. This mask is worth every penny and whenever I use it, my hair is left feeling incredibly silky and smooth and it styles like a dream. I feel like I've talked a ton about this mask here on my blog, but I really can't help it. This is one of those amazing holy grail products for me!

4. MOROCCANOIL Treatment Light
I mentioned this one in my Knee Jerk favorites, because it really is my favorite product to smooth through my hair any time I'm going to blow dry. It smells like HEAVEN and I can't stop sniffing my hair whenever I've used it,  but above and beyond that superficial aspect this does a really good job of smoothing and deeply hydrating my hair. I especially loved this when I had a balayage earlier this year, because the highlighted tips of my hair tended to look dry and brittle otherwise, but when I threw this in they looked really healthy.

5. COLAB Sheer Invisible Dry Shampoo in RIO Tropical
Ohhhhhh yaaaaaas! This dry shampoo is fantastic. One of my biggest issues with a lot of dry shampoos is the white cast, which always makes me look like I A) am a lot older than I am, and B) am in desperate need of having my roots done. This doesn't leave any white cast in my hair at all, but it also doesn't leave any nasty residue that ultimately makes my hair feel dirty even if it looks fairly clean. I want to specify that while I love the Sheer Invisible formula from COLAB, I absolutely HATE the Extreme Volume formula. The two are definitely not created equal. That said, if you're looking for a GREAT dry shampoo, I would highly recommend picking this up - I usually grab mine at Winners!
HONORABLE MENTION: EVA NYC Freshen Up Dry Shampoo - This is probably my ride or die, but I haven't been able to get my hands on it in a while so it doesn't get the favorites mention for lack of easy availability. If you can get it, though, I highly recommend it.

Another favorites bites the dust! As I write these, I'm wondering at what point you guys will get bored of reading about my favorite products from 2015, but I'm hoping that there are enough in these posts that entice you that you'll stick around!

Thanks for reading and keep it here for the last couple of 2015 favorites posts to come!
