PRODUCT EMPTIES: March & April 2016

by - May 04, 2016

So, as you can see, I skipped last month's empties post. Why, you ask? There just weren't enough products that I used up so I figured that I would just hold onto the ones I had and do a double empties this month. I think, in the future, I'll do it that way during months when I don't have a lot of empties because it seems silly to do a post without only a few products in it. Anyway, I have some good ones in this month's post - as well as some really old ones that were hanging out in the back of my collection. Those older ones haven't really been touched in a while, so I apologize if my mini-reviews are a little bit lacking. I'll do my best!

To check out what I used up in the last couple of months, keep reading!

Femme Couture Get Locked Make-Up Setting Spray
I picked this up on a bit of a whim one day at Sally Beauty and I found that I went through it pretty quickly. Weirdly, it pretty much reminds me of an exact dupe of the Hard Candy setting spray, from what I can remember, and I really feel like the two could be interchangable. This wasn't a bad product, but I don't think it really extended the wear of my makeup all that much so I probably won't be repurchasing.

Wet N Wild PhotoFocus Setting Spray
I actually really liked this one - and I feel like I used it up really quickly. I actually really wish that it was double the size it is and would happily pay double the price if that was the case, because I just feel like this one is too small and I don't want to constantly be picking up more. That said, I will likely repurchase because I did like this - particularly the way that it took away any powderiness left on my skin and gave me a healthy, more natural finish on the skin.

Laura Mercier Cashmere Glow Foundation Sample from Sephora
I really, really, really loved how this looked when I first applied it to the skin, but over the course of the day I feel like it kind of disappeared and left my skin looking greasy. Won't repurchase.

essence Lash Mania Waterproof Mascara
This mascara was completely forgettable to me. I don't recall it being bad, it just wasn't one that stood out or did anything particularly exciting to my lashes. Won't repurchase.

Too Faced Lashgasm Mascara
This is OLD. Like really, really old. I literally haven't touched it in a couple of years. That said, what I remember is that it was really black and looked amazing on the lashes, but it smudged on my like crazy. Is this even still available?

Benefit They're Real Mascara
Honestly, I'm not a fan of They're Real and I've never really gotten the hype... but I have definitely gotten the samples. I think I currently have three unopened in my collection and I always try them again to see if I like them better but they never impress. No repurchase.

Buxom Mascara (Actually not sure what it's called)
I literally don't remember this one at all... Wish I could say SOMETHING about it, but I've got nothing. I think it actually might have been good though. I'm such a weirdo.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara
So I've heard this called a Roller Lash dupe and I disagree. For me, this mascara just didn't work out and kind of cemented the fact that I'm just not a Maybelline mascara girl anymore. No repurchase.

Benefit Hello Flawless Foundation Sample
This is also old, but I remember that I wasn't a huge fan of it the few times I tried it. No repurchase.

Live Clean Apple Cider Ultra Light Conditioner
I lovelovelove the smell of this and will likely repurchase it again in the summer when I don't need as intense a conditioner. Honestly, I think Live Clean is a great brand for hair products.

Living Proof Restore Mask Treatment
I think I set my expectations a little too high for this because it was SO hyped, because while I did like it, it didn't wow me as much as I was expecting. I would definitely use it again, but I'm not sure that based on my experience it's worth the cost of the full size.

CoLab Sheer Invisible Dry Shampoo in Monaco
Anyone who has checked out previous empties posts here on the blog know that I love the CoLab Sheer Invisible Dry Shampoo and knows that I go through them fairly consistently. I really love this fragrance and would definitely pick it up again.

Live Clean Moisturizing Liquid Hand Soap in Holly Berry
I figured I would include this in my empties because I absolutely love the Live Clean hand soaps and they're all we use around the house anymore. This wasn't my favorite scent personally, but the formula is just great. Always repurchase.

L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil
This is an absolutely Holy Grail product for me and a forever repurchase. I love the scent, I love how luxurious and nourishing it is to my skin, and I really can't get enough. Definite repurchase.

THEFACESHOP Hyaluronic Acid Sheet Mask
This mask was nice. Very hydrating and soothing on my face. Would repurchase.

Global Beauty Care Retinol Under Eye Patch x2
I like these to help tame the puffiness that I get under my eyes when I haven't gotten enough sleep. And they're really affordable. Would repurchase.

Intensiveye Cucumber Under Eye Pads
Same as above. This isn't really a treatment so much as an easy way to tame puffiness. Would repurchase.

Pur~lisse Prevent Blue Lotus + White Tea Treatment Sheet Mask

I quite liked this sheet mask and I really felt like it gave me a fantastic skin day... but it's a little spendier than I like my sheet masks to be so I probably won't repurchase.

ION Repair Solutions Deep Conditioner
I picked this up at Sally and the sales girl told me it was something else entirely, which made me annoyed. This was fine. I used it after I added pink to my hair and it did a decent job. I dunno. Probably won't repurchase because I'm annoyed at the sales girl. (Anyone else do this?)

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloths
FAVORITE. Again, regular readers of the blog will recognize these and know that they're my hands down favorite cleansing wipes and I always go back to them. Definite repurchase

NUDE Gentle Detox Brightening Fizzy Powder Wash Sample
I really, really liked this. I think it might be a little too much for my skin in the winter, but could definitely blow me away in the summer. I'm considering a full size purchase.

Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Peel Original Formula Sample
I really, really liked this sample as well. I'd been wanting to try these for a while and I'm tempted to buy myself a pack of them and really try them out on the open road. We'll see!

Clean & Clear Blackhead Clearing Astringent
Forgot to photograph this outside the group. I really like this toner and I think it does a good job with my skin. I've actually already repurchased it, though I haven't cracked into it yet!

Overall, not a bad bunch of empties. Some of the products are absolute favorites of mine, some are entirely forgettable, and everything in between. Have you tried any of these products? I'd love to hear your thoughts on them in the comments!

Thanks for reading!
