HAUL: What I Bought In Florida!

by - August 05, 2016

I don't do hauls here on the blog that often, but when I go away and I do a little beauty shopping I like to get everything together and do a haul. Now, I had actually planned on picking up more things than I did, but because we took an extra long girls weekend that included two days in theme parks - and one day recovering from the two days in theme parks, there really wasn't a lot of time for shopping. I had hoped to get down to Ulta and Target while I was there, which surely would have at least doubled the volume of this haul, but we didn't get a chance. So really, this is just a haul of some items from Walgreens, Walmart, Sephora, and some souvenirs from Wizarding World of Harry Potter!

If you're interested in seeing what I picked up, keep reading!

Peter Thomas Roth Meet Your Mask 6-Piece Mask Kit
I actually originally saw this set on the Ulta website and I absolutely felt like I needed to have it. I've been dying to try out a couple of the PTR masks, but because they're so spendy and I wasn't sure how they would play on my face. That's really what makes this set great, though, because I can try out smaller sizes of each of their masks to find out which one is really my favorite for my skin. Because my skin has completely freaked out since about the middle of my trip, I'm really looking forward to the Pumpkin Enzyme Mask, but ultimately the most excited one is the gold one. I mean, really. Anyway, I will likely review this entire set once I've gotten a chance to try them all with my thoughts of who would enjoy each mask!

Wet N Wild Illumi-Naughty Highlighting & Concealing Pen
I picked this up because I'd heard amazing things about it and am clearly a concealer junkie, if this haul has anything to say about it. I've used this once and I definitely wish there had been a lighter shade there because this is also very near to my skin tone and feels quite yellow toned so it doesn't really highlight so well on me. The coverage is really, really good though. I'm hoping that we get this in stores locally soon in a lighter shade.

Wet N Wild Velvet Matte Lip Color in Charred Cherry
Because I really like this formula, I really randomly decided to grab this shade because it looked like it would right up my alley. Amazingly enough, I like the shade even more than I thought I would and I think it'll get a lot of wear for the rest of the summer because it's a really beautiful berry mauve shade with enough vibrancy to really make it an ideal spring/summer colour. Not what I was expecting, but I really like it.

Wet N Wild Come Correct Celebrity Concealer
Of the three concealers that I picked up on this trip, this is the only one that's light enough for me to highlight with. I've heard a lot of talk that this is a good dupe for the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye, and because I absolutely love that concealer I wanted to test out that claim. I haven't had a chance to test it yet, but I might do some kind of comparison "Is It A Dupe?" post about it in the near future!

Tattoo Junkee Pucker Up Red Lip Paint & Glitter Set
As soon as I saw Tati review this kit over on GlamLifeGuru, I absolutely wanted to have it. She said that the lipstick itself was gorgeous even without the glitter, which sold me, but I was also really curious about the actual glitter lips look so I just had to try it. I actually have applied this and while the red isn't my absolute favorite shade, it's a really gorgeous formula, and the glitter just looks like my lips are ruby slippers. I wish I had picked up another colour as well as this one! I will likely review this with swatches soon!

Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer Mini
While we were in the Sephora at Disney Springs, I was determined to be good and just help my friends shop for makeup, but then I was in line picking up the Peter Thomas Roth mask set and I saw that they had minis of the Naked Skin Concealer and I absolutely knew I had to try one just because I've heard such amazing things about the formula. I've used this once so far and I think the shade is pretty much a perfect match for my skin tone, so I don't get much highlighting from it, but I'm impressed with the coverage so far. I'll say more in my Stuff I Tried This Month for August!

Milani Moisture Lock Coconut Infused Lip Treatment
Because I've been so into lip oils recently, this was definitely on my wish list for this trip and, because Milani is SO widely available in the US, I was able to get my hands on it even though we didn't do much shopping. This has a slight chemical taste to it that I'm not entirely fond of, but I absolutely love the feel on the lips. It's super hydrating, incredibly comfortable, and not at all sticky. I wish I had picked up one of the tinted ones!

Not Your Mother's Clean Freak Refreshing Dry Shampoo
Honestly, I picked this up because I didn't pack a dry shampoo and I needed one that I could bring back with me in my carry on, since I wasn't checking a bag. I've only used it once so far, but I liked it well enough. It's pretty clear, so I don't get any white cast, and it has a fresh scent. I'll have it use it a little more to determine how I really feel about it.

Caress Evenly Gorgeous Burnt Brown Sugar & Karite Butter Body Wash
So this is random, but I just grabbed it on a whim because I saw the scent, sniffed it, and decided it smelled delicious and I needed it in my life. I swear, sometimes I make strange decisions on a whim. Anyway, I haven't used it because I had already packed body wash, but I'm going to throw it in my shower and start using it right away because it smells yummy.

IT Cosmetics For Ulta Your Beauty Basics Airbrush 101 5 Piece Brush Set
This brush set was actually a gift from my friend for my upcoming birthday, since we don't live in the same city (or even the same country) at this point. And technically, I did pick it out. I was planning on putting together a U.S. Wish List for the blog, but time got away from me and I never got a chance to do it, and she asked me to send her my three favorite things from the list so that she could pick up one for me and this is it. I've only used the brushes a couple of times so far, but they are INCREDIBLY soft and seem to do a really good job of applying product in a really soft, blown out kind of way on the skin. I'll keep you posted with a full review in the near future!

Of course I had to get some souvenirs. I decided not to get any Disney ones, since I visited Disneyland a few years ago and I went mad with souvenir power on that trip and I wanted to spend my money on Harry Potter souvenirs from Universal Studios. We geeked out hard on the Harry Potter stuff on this trip, so it seemed only right.

Marauder's Map Coffee Mug
So me and my friend, whose birthday we were celebrating, have officially got a tradition when we travel together now, and that tradition is that we find matching mugs that we both get. Pretty much as soon as we saw these mugs, we knew they were the ones and we both came home with them. While some people like to put their souvenir mugs on a shelf, I definitely plan on drinking from this one just like I drink from the Mine, Mine, Mine! ones we got when we were in Los Angeles.

Deathly Hallows Key Chain
I actually originally picked this up for a friend's niece who is a HUGE Harry Potter fan... but then I decided that I needed to have one too. Does this ever happen to you? This is the kind of souvenir that I like - one that I can actually use and that will remind me happily of my trip every time I see it. This isn't on my keys yet... but will be within the next day or two.

Ravenclaw Pin
I think most Harry Potter fans have, at some point, taken a Sorting Hat quiz, am I right? Well, I've taken them several times and I've been sorted into Ravenclaw every single time, so I figured that this would be a good pin to take home with me. Doesn't hurt that my friend got a matching Slytherin pin. I swear, we turned more than a little bit into super nerds/little kids on this trip.

So there you go, a little haul that didn't do too much damage to my wallet. I also had a Colourpop order shipped to one of my friends that I was meeting down there, so check back here soon for my Colourpop haul!
