SUBSCRIPTION: Ipsy Glambag December 2016
Considering that I've been posting Ipsy unbaggings for almost 3 years now, I'm really running out of ways to open these posts and I think it's showing. ANYWAY! This month's Ipsy Glambag theme is Carpe P.M. which is pretty cute, if you ask me. I feel like Ipsy tends to stick to New Years themes in December rather than Christmas or other holidays, which I kind of like because it doesn't exclude anyone and it fits really well to makeup, don't you think? This month's makeup bag is... not my favorite, but I think it's pretty on theme. It's actually a little wristlet, which is super cute, and has a really pretty gold metal Ipsy detail on the front. but I kind of can't with the magenta horsehairesque fabric. I'm sure other people will like it, but it's just not for me.
Keep reading to see what I got inside!
Ciaté London Liquid Velvet Lipstick in Pin Up
Clearly this is the most exciting product in the bag for me and I slathered it on my lips pretty much as soon as I got this, because I've been wanting to try out this formula. This shade is GORGEOUS and very much on trend and to my personal taste. I absolutely love the applicator, which I feel makes it really easy to get a crisp lip line and smooth application. Because I've only worn this for a couple of hours so far, I can't say with any kind of certainty how I feel about the formula, but it's actually two ways as of right now. It applies really full colour and sets for the most part... but then I find that somehow it travels outside my lip lines and I get a bit of a clown lip going on. I'm going to keep testing it and see how I feel about it. Let me know if you'd like a full review!
Marc Anthony Nourishing Argan Oil of Morocco Deep Hydrating Conditioning Treatment
Quite some time ago, I got the Marc Anthony Argan Oil Of Morocco Hairspray in an Ipsy bag and I actually really kind of loved it, so I'm very much looking forward to trying this out. I don't generally love getting hair products in a subscription, mostly because I have WAY too many in use at this point, but I can always use a hair mask or hydrating treatment on hand - particularly in the winter. Fingers crossed for this one.
theBalm Mad Lash Black Mascara
I've had pretty phenomenal success with the last two mascaras that I got from Ipsy, so I'm holding out for more good luck with this one. I did apply this one this morning and I think it looks pretty good on the lashes, though I'm not really prepared to say more than that. It hasn't flaked in the last... 6 hours or so, so that's also a plus. I'll keep testing this out and if you'd like a review, please let me know!
tarte Maracuja Oil
This is definitely the product in this month's bag that I just wasn't excited about. It's not that this isn't a good product, don't get me wrong, I just know that I'll probably never really put it to good use. Honestly, this might be getting tossed in a friend's stocking this year, because I know a couple of my friends who will probably get better use out of it than me. Still, can't complain about getting higher end products, can I?
Beau Gachis Paris Concealer Brush
I always love getting brushes in subscriptions, but I have to admit that I'm kind of sick of getting concealer brushes. Do you think it's because there's extras on hand because they're not as popular? I don't know. This is fine and I'm sure I'll use it, but I'd have been a lot more excited about an eye brush than a concealer brush, know what I mean? That said, I actually got a Beau Gachis brush once before and I use it really, really often, so I'm not mad.
Overall, I'm really not mad at this month's bag. I like the two makeup items that I got, I'm looking forward to trying the deep conditioner, and I'm sure I'll use the brush. The only thing I'm not thrilled about its the Marula Oil, but not for any reason other than personal preference.
If you're interested in joining Ipsy, I'd love if you'd use my referral link and hook a woman up with some points! It's $10US/month (plus $5 shipping for us Canadians) and clearly I've been a long time fan!
Thanks for reading!
