REVIEW: JULEP What Your Skin Needs Restorative Facial Milk

by - January 11, 2017

I was so impressed with the first facial milk moisturizer that I tried that when I decided to spend some of my Jules with my Julep subscription I just couldn't resist trying out their What Your Skin Needs Restorative Facial Milk. It looked quite similar to the one that I had already tried and I was really, really excited to try it. Of course, I wanted to wait until the weather got cold because I really wanted to put this product to the test on my driest possible skin. Since winter here in Winnipeg has officially turned brutal in the past few weeks, I've been putting this to the test consistently and I'm definitely ready to give you guys my review!

About:
This ultra-lightweight facial moisturizer is a high-tech blend of five skin-boosting oils that quickly absorb into your skin to treat, hydrate, and replenish. Gentle enough for all skin types, including sensitive skin.

INGREDIENTS: Water, Squalane, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Glycerin, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Argania Spinosa (Argan) Kernel Oil, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Gluconolactone, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Capruloyl Glycerin/Sebacic Acid Copolymer, Diheptyl Succinate, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Xanthum Gum, Citric Acid

As you can see, this product is packaged in a really beautiful glass bottle and has a dropper style applicator. I feel like this style of packaging is pretty much a must with this particular type of formula. I find that this dropper picks up a good amount of product and it's quite easy to control how much product you dispense. Trust me, this facial milk packs quite a punch and I find that about 3 drops is enough product for me to easily cover my whole face. If you're really dry you might need a little bit more, though.

If you take a look at the ingredients in this product, it really is a fantastic list filled with really skin loving ingredients and rich oils to really hydrate the skin. The thing I think I love most about this is that even though it's so rich and hydrating, it doesn't have a heavy or greasy feel on the skin. I've actually really been loving this as as daytime moisturizer because it really keeps my skin hydrated all day but it works really beautifully under makeup. There's no greasy or sticky residue on the skin and it sinks in quickly so I don't have to leave a bunch of time between applying this and applying my makeup like I do with a lot of my day time moisturizers.

Overall, I really like this product. I think it's pretty much perfect for what my skin needs (har har) during the colder months. I think that in the summer when my skin isn't quite as dry, I'd be more likely to reach for this as a night time moisturizer and probably not every day, but in the winter it's perfect as a day time moisturizer to keep me hydrated throughout the day without feeling heavy or greasy under makeup. I highly, highly recommend trying out this product, particularly those of you who have a similar normal leaning dry skin type like myself!
