REVIEW: Robin McGraw Revelation Luxury Skin Care

by - August 24, 2017

Recently, I had the chance to try out the Robin McGraw Revelation Luxury Skin Care Be The Brightest One In The Room 3-Step Brightening System* and, of course, I jumped at it because... well, obviously I'm obsessed with skin care formulas and I'm always interested in trying something new. Robin McGraw Revelation products are newly available in Canada and I think they're going to make a pretty exciting entrance. I have to admit... I didn't actually know who Robin McGraw was before doing research for this review and finding out that she's Dr. Phil's wife. Am I just completely out of the loop? Anyway, Robin McGraw teamed with Dr. Jessica Wu, a board certified dermatologist, to create a line of sophisticated products that won't break the bank. So how did they do?

For more info on each of the products and to see how they worked for me, keep reading.

Twinkle Twinkle You're A Star Triple Action Brightening Polish*
Turn on your inner light! Reveal your most radiant, youthful complexion with this multi-action polishing scrub. Featuring a proprietary Triple Action Brightening Complex, this formula works to refine pores and fade the appearance of dark spots and discoloration.

As recommended, I've been using this twice a week as a part of my night time skin care routine and I really enjoy it. It contains Vitamin C, as all three of these products do, as well as bentonite clay and lactic and salicylic acids - all ingredients that I personally love in my skin care routine. As I've said before in skin care posts, I like to use chemical exfoliants most of the time and then use a physical exfoliant once or twice a week, so this moved really seamlessly into my skin care routine. This scrub uses a very fine pumice as it's scrubbing ingredient, which I find both effective and gentle at the same time. Oftentimes I feel like that can be a difficult balance to strike, with a lot of gentle exfoliants being ineffective and more effective exfoliants being too harsh on my skin, so this was hugely appreciated.

Because I don't like to overwhelm my skin, I use this as my second cleanse step in my routine after removing my makeup with an oil cleanser, and I work it gently in circular motions over the skin for about a minute before rinsing with warm water. I find that after using this, my skin feels smooth and energized but never looks or feels at all irritated. I'm not sure how this would work for more sensitive skin, but my skin has really loved it.

Let There Be Bright Triple Action Brightening Serum*
Promise your complexion a brighter future. Formulated with a proprietary Triple Action Brightening Complex and highly stabilized 10% Vitamin C, this potent serum fades the appearance of existing spots and discoloration, protects, brightens and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Of all three of these products, this one is absolutely my favorite and I believe the one I've seen the most significant results from. Because I'm a nerd like this, I've done some research into the Triple Action Brightening Complex, comprised of Lumiskin, Brightenyl, and Vitamin C - because I really had no idea what those first two ingredients were and found myself initially quite skeptical. I have to admit that this sent me down a little bit of a rabbit hole, but I was pretty impressed with what I could find out about clinical studies of Lumiskin and Brightenyl and I think these are two ingredients that show interesting clinical results and have potential to be really exciting, cutting edge new ingredients in skin care. This formula also contains Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate, which is an ester of retonoic acid that has shown to have similar results to Retin-A without the irritation. Cool, right?

I've been using this serum immediately after my mist/toner step in my skin care both day and night and the results have been really, really solid. As always, I'm careful to pair this with an SPF for daytime wear, as I would when using any active skin care. Overall, I find my complexion looks bright and healthy with consistent use of this serum. Honestly, I really feel like this is a sophisticated and effective formula containing really effective ingredients and is basically a steal at $66US.

Starlight, Face Bright Triple Action Brightening Night Cream*
Wake up to brighter, smoother, healthier-looking skin every day! This nourishing night treatment contains a proprietary Triple Action Brightening Complex and stabilized Vitamin C to help reduce the appearance of dark spots for a more supple, radiant complexion.

Can we just take a packaging moment? Because as much as skin care is about the formulas, having this jar on my vanity just makes me really happy. I feel like a brand calling themselves luxury has to have some beautiful or at least unique packaging and this one definitely lives up to that. But obviously, we need to talk about the formula. I have to admit, for this time of year this night cream has just been a little bit too rich for my skin, personally. While this cream isn't particularly thick, it has a really rich texture and I can absolutely feel it on my skin basically from the time I put it on until I wash it off in the morning.

I think that for me this is going to be a winter night cream to really pack a ton of hydration when my skin tends to get quite dry and needs that barrier to keep me hydrated while I'm sleeping in a house warmed by a furnace that tends to pull the moisture from the air. I also think this could be really dreamy for dry or more mature skin that does need something a little more intense and heavy on the hydration side. It has good ingredients and I definitely think the texture is going to be really suited to dry and mature skins.

Sterling Silver & Swarovski Crystal Bow Ring*
“I wear my bow ring daily as a reminder that it is not self ish to put myself at the top of the list, to take care of myself so I can take care of those I love. My hope is to inspire you to believe you deserve to live a life f illed with health and happiness.” ~ Robin McGraw

I really wanted to include this piece of jewelry created by Robin McGraw in this post because I really, really love the message that it intends to send. Inspired by the idea of tying a ring around your finger to remember something important, this sterling silver and Swarovski crystal midi ring is intended to inspire you to practice self care for the sake of your own health and happiness. That's something that I honestly feel really strongly about, something that I consistently remind the people in my life to do, and something that I encourage all of you to do. I truly appreciate this message from Robin McGraw, because I do think that it's an important and genuinely inspiring message.

Of these three products, my personal favorite is definitely the Let There Be Bright Triple Action Brightening Serum*. I suspect this is because of these three products, this one is clearly going to be the most transformative - that's kind of the jam of serums at the end of the day, right? When it comes to cleansers and moisturizers, I personally don't really expect to see much overall transformation, so I just expect them to do their job. I found the Twinkle Twinkle You're A Star Brightening Polish* to be very gentle to use, as far as physical exfoliants go, and it left my skin feeling soft. Like I said, the Starlight, Face Bright Triple Action Brightening Night Cream* is probably better suited for dry or mature skin, but I suspect I'll really enjoy it in the summer when my skin does tend to need more heavy hydration.

Overall, I'm pretty impressed with what I've tried from Robin McGraw Revelation Luxury Skin Care so far and am definitely interested in trying out some more of her products in the future. There are definitely a few things that I've seen on the website that look like they could be right up my alley!

If you're interested in picking up some products from Robin McGraw Revelation Luxury Skin Care, they are available online at her website, and in the US you can also find them on Amazon.
