HOLIDAY 2017: Hard Candy Gift Sets + Giveaway!

by - November 22, 2017

When it comes to drugstore priced holiday gift sets, I really think Hard Candy has always stood out as being interesting and different. I remember seeing their first advent calendars years ago, before everyone and their dog were doing an advent calendar, and I just thought it was brilliant. This year, however, the selection of holidays sets from the brand seems absolutely massive and ranges from $1.47 up to $19.97 with options at seemingly every point in between making for some great options for stocking stuffers and, specifically, gifts for teens. I was sent a few things to feature here, but I also bought a few of the sets myself because I was really curious about them and wanted to feature them in this post as well.

To see some of the sets that Hard Candy has on offer this year and to enter to win a few of them for yourself, keep reading!

Hard Candy All About Nail Set* - $19.97

Hard Candy has absolutely always been known for nail polish. I remember teen magazines back when I was growing up having ads for them and I always wanted to get my hands on them. When they relaunced at Walmart several years ago and had a really wide selection of interesting and unique polishes, I bought more of them than I could count and I've always really enjoyed them, so I love the nail polish sets that they come out with at the holidays. This one contains 10 shades that feel really party and festivity appropriate to me. I actually applied the shade on the bottom right, which is like if cranberry and rose gold had a gorgeous shimmery baby, pretty much as soon as I got this and I love it. I'm also pretty excited to use the holo glitter polish for some really sparkly holiday party nails.

Hard Candy 12 Days Of Eye Set* - $9.97

Hard Candy only released one advent calendar this year, as far as I know, but it's super cute. Behind each of the 12 windows, you'll find a single shade in a variety of neutral shades in both matte and shimmer finishes. Because these are all so neutral and give a really soft look, I think this is pretty much the perfect gift for someone who's just getting into makeup and I know that when I was in my young teens, I would have loved to find this under the tree. I did try out these shadows and while they do give a soft look, I was able to create a really pretty, neutral look without having to work too hard with them.

Hard Candy So Kissable Lip Collection* - $4.97

I have to admit, the lip sets are what's really getting me this year. This set comes in a super adorable tin and contains 5 mini liquid lipsticks, with 2 from the glossy Wet Ever line, 2 from the Matte Mousse line, and 1 from the Matte Metallic line. All of the shades are really wearable, but I also think there's a good variety in this set. How super cute, right? And it's only $5. If there is a more adorable lip set at the drugstore, I literally have never seen it.

Hard Candy Have A Ball Lip Gloss Ornament* - $1.47

These cute little balls are, in my opinion, the perfect addition to a gift for a little girl and I'm actually planning on sticking them onto my nieces Christmas presents this year as a little cute extra. They're available in Vanilla, Cherry, Strawberry, and Raspberry and they're sheer with a little bit of shimmer in them. They definitely do have a kind of... kids makeup scent to them, which is really what drives it home that this is a perfect thing for little girls.

All of the sets in the photo above were under $5. In fact, only one of them was $4.97 and the rest were literally $3 each. Let's start with the most expensive of the three, and the first one that I picked up, the Lips Of Love Velvet Mousse Collection is $4.97 and contains 3 lip colours and a makeup bag. I really, really like this set. I think they chose a really perfect selection of shades for this set and the size is quite generous for a mini. Next, we have the Metal Eyes Eyeshadow Tin, which is $3, and contains 8 shimmery eyeshadow shades and a dual ended sponge tip. These shadows are a little bit powdery and I wouldn't necessarily call the finish metallic, but I think for $3 this is a pretty great little palette. Next is the Fierce Effects Daring Lip Kit, which contains a dual ended lipstick and a lip liner pencil and also retails for $3. I mean... $3! Finally, the Look Pro! Illuminating And Highlight Duo is also $3 and contains 2 cream highlighter sticks.

Honestly, considering the fact that there are 7 different holiday sets included in this post, I really haven't even scratched the surface of what's available from the brand this season, and I feel like these are seriously great options if you're looking for stocking stuffers or makeup gifts on a budget, particularly for the young ladies in your life or people just dipping their toes into makeup.
