BEAUTY WISHLIST: January 2018

by - January 19, 2018

When it comes to the beauty things that I want to try, the list is always really, really long. When I was looking through my Sephora Loves list recently, I decided that it seemed like a good idea to share what has piqued my recent interest with you guys! With makeup, skin care, hair care and nail picks, this covers a pretty wide range of different products. They're overwhelmingly new releases - as always tends to be the case with the things that give us grabby hands, but there are also a few on this list that have been lingering on there for a while.

Wanna see what has me wanting to pull out my wallet? Keep reading!

1. Ciate Glow To Illuminating Blush
I honestly don't know what it is about this blush that calls to me, but I've had different shades in my cart multiple times. I understand that this is a very highlighting blush, which isn't normally my thing, but perhaps because my skin has been a little bit smoother and I'm kind of aching for glowy summertime makeup looks, this has been calling to me. I particularly want the shade pictured, which is called Date Night and described as an Amber Pink.

2. Wet N Wild Rose In The Air Palette
I almost didn't include this one on here, because you can be absolutely guaranteed that as soon as I find this in store I'm going to be picking it up. I'm super excited about the new Wet N Wild releases in general, but the new palettes are definitely at the top of the heap for me and this Modern Renaissance dupe in particular. I need this in my hands ASAP... Has anyone seen the new WnW releases on Canadian shelves yet?

3. NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation
It's not that often that high end foundation ends up on my wishlist - a lot of the ones I've tried have just been overall disappointing and not worth the price point for me, but something about this new NARS foundation is just absolutely calling to me. It could be the overwhelmingly good reviews I've seen from it, or perhaps the arrangement of the words in the name that make me really, really curious about how this will look on my skin. Don't know, don't care, just want this in my collection.

4. Stila Shimmer & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow
I have to admit... I haven't tried the Stila Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadows yet. I know that they took the makeup world by storm in 2017, but I never picked any up because I'm not the hugest glitter person. Shimmer, on the other hand, is basically an every day thing in my makeup routine, so I was super intrigued when I heard about these new additions to Stila's line. I've heard really good things and they sound right up my alley, so... you know, GIMME!

5. tarte Hamptons Weekender Contour Palette
I have a thing for the small tarte palettes, I really do, and as soon as I saw this new palette - which includes a highlight, blush and contouring bronzer, apparently - I wanted it. It was actually in my cart several times over the past few weeks, but I haven't yet pulled the trigger. I will, though. There are a few things on this list that are sure things and this is absolutely one of them.

1. Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Eye Cream
This is actually at the top of my To Buy list as soon as it is back in stock either online or at my local Sephora. I got a fairly generous sample from one of the girls at Sephora and I'm a little bit in love with this eye cream. It's really creamy, but doesn't feel heavy or overwhelming on my eyes, and I can easily use it both day and night with good results. Can't wait to have a full size tub of this!

2. Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Cream
Drunk Elephant has generally impressed me with the products that I've tried from them, so when I saw that they were releasing a peptide cream, I was all over it in my head. Whenever I use a product with peptides in, my skin absolutely loves it. I have to do a little more research about the specific peptides in those products that my skin has loved and why that might be, but for the time being all I know is that my skin loves peptides and therefore I want my hands all over this cream from Drunk Elephant.

3. Saturday Skin Rub-A-Dub Refining Peel Gel
This is actually something that I almost whimsically want to try. Generally, I'm a big fan of hydroxy acids for peeling, but I've tried some products that use fruit enzymes and I've really enjoyed them, so I was curious about how this one will work. The reviews are pretty good, saying that it's both gentle and effective, so I'm definitely interested to see how this works for my skin. I think this product might be a given as well.

4. Old Henriksen Invigorating Night Transformation Gel
This is one of those products that has been on my list for a while that I'm kind of dying to try out, just haven't gotten the chance yet. You guys know that I love an AHA and I've heard really good things about this glycolic-led multisource AHA complex product. What more can I say? I want all of the transformative skin care directly onto my face immediately - especially the ones that look really promising, like this one.

5. Farmacy Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm
This is another product that is on the list because of a sample. This is really unlike any other cleansing balm that I've ever used, but it really effectively removes my makeup and leaves my skin feeling really supple and clean. Yet again, we have an almost certain purchase right here, because this was love at first wash for me.

1. Superchic Lacquer Pheromone
Um, so this shade is insane, right? I've been seeing SO MUCH Superchic Lacquer on my Instagram feed and I basically want every shade, but Pheromone is just so completely impactful and unlike anything I have in my collection, really anything I've ever seen, to be honest. It's bold and punchy and I want it on my hands right now. RIGHT NOW.

2. piCture pOlish Summer
On the complete opposite side of the spectrum from the bold shade above, this really neutral peachy pink holo polish just looks super pretty and wearable while still being a little bit special. With spring on the horizon (and my entire being sick of being cold), I'm already anticipating pretty warm weather nail looks and I would absolutely love to have this on hand for those.

3. Maison Margiela REPLICA Music Festival Perfume
So... I haven't smelled this, but I'm such a feeling kind of a girl when it comes to fragrance and something about smelling like how I imagine Woodstock to feel (when I ignore the reality of truly unpleasant body odors that were certaintly permeating the air) makes me happy. I would never buy this without smelling it... but I really, really can't wait to smell it.

4. IGK Hot Girls Hydrating Shampoo & Conditioner
I got a foil sample of this and, for some reason, I actually decided to use it. I generally give away foil shampoo and conditioner samples, but something about this made me try it out and I pretty much immediately fell in love. These products smell amazing, rinse really clean even though they really do hydrate my hair, and leave my hair feeling soft and silky and smelling incredible. I don't often spend a lot on shampoo, admittedly, but these have me considering the expense.

5. OLAPLEX Hair Perfector No3
I went through a period of watching a decent number of hair dyeing videos on Youtube and found myself really wanting my own hairdresser to use OLAPLEX when dying my hair and also wanting to use it as a treatment at home. I recently noticed that an OLAPLEX product is now available for non-professionals on the Sephora website - and I WANT IT.

Annnnd there you go! These are all of the things (or most of them... or at least a chunk of them) that  am wishing for at the moment! I'd love to hear in the comments about the things that are at the top of your wish list!

Thanks for reading!
