MANI MONDAY: Toxic Holo Slime Halloween Nails
Hey guys! I'm continuing my whole month of Halloween Mani Monday posts with a little bit of toxic slime that I'm kind of obsessed with. I'm also doing 12 Days Of Halloween Nail Art over on my nail art Instagram @pblnails - so head over there to check out what else I'm putting on my nails leading up to my personal favorite beauty holiday!
To find out how I got this mani (this one was a little bit more complicated than my other Halloween mani's this month) keep reading!
For this mani, I started with a base of one of my personal favorite polishes, OPI's Extravagance from their Designer Series, which is a rich raspberry scattered holo that is just perfection. For my middle nail, I started with a base of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Into The Groove and topped it with a coat of Girly Bits' Jive Talkin'. (When I bought Jive Talkin' earlier this year, I knew that it was going to be a polish I reached for during Halloween... but seriously, it's a PERFECT Halloween polish!)
Because I didn't have a lime green stamping polish and I really wanted the green to pop, I first stamped with white polish for the slime drips and the skulls and then stamped with the green. For the drips, I used the Bundle Monster BM-XL09 Stamping Plate and for the skulls I used the BornPrettyStore BPX-L007 Stamping Plate. Admittedly, the green wasn't as opaque as I wanted, so I went in with a detailing brush and first filled in the slime drips with Into The Groove and then topped them with Jive Talkin'. Because this drip pattern is quite big, this was actually pretty easy and turned out really opaque and great. The skulls, I think, could have been a little bit better but I still feel like I got the green essence from them and I kind of like that they're a little bit grungy.
Honestly, you guys, I had this Toxic Slime idea in my head for Halloween, but it turned out so much better than I could have imagined. I love the punch of the different sizes of holo glitters in the two polishes, which I think gives it a lot of texture, and the shine is just amazing. It would be wrong to call it now... but I really think that this might end up being my favorite mani of this whole month!
Like I said above, if you want to see more Halloween nail art every day leading up to the 31st, be sure to follow me over at @pblnails on Instagram. Also, check out more Halloween mani's today for #CBBxManiMonday from Jayne, Renee & Eithne as well!
