MANI MONDAY: Pink & Grey Snowflake Gradient Nails

by - February 25, 2019

Hey guys! Sorry the blog has been a little bit quiet the last week or so - I ended up with the head cold of doom and it sort of made my brain not want to work. Anyone else familiar with that? Anyway! For this week's Mani Monday, as we finish out our February Pink & Red theme for #CBBxManiMonday, I wanted to keep it cozy and hopefully do my last wintery themed mani of this year (as I sit here freezing my butt and wishing for spring.) I did these nails while I watched The Oscars last night - anyone else have Shallow from A Star Is  Born in their head today?

Keep reading to take a closer look!

I've had gradients in my head recently, so I decided to put together a really soft, subtle gradient using Crayola + Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Wisteria and Essence The Gel Polish in Miracle Stone. I also decided to do a vertical gradient because it was a little different. I started with a coat of Wisteria as my base and then went in with 3 coats of the gradient using a makeup sponge. For my accent nail, I kept it really simple with two coats of Wisteria and then one really thin coat of Miracle Stone applied with a sponge so that I could get a little of that in between shade as well as the punch of the pink shimmer that runs through the grey in that shade.

I topped all of my nails with a coat of KBShimmer Prism Break - because obviously every gradient looks best when topped with a holographic top coat. For the stamping, I used the XY-Merry Christmas 05 Stamping Plate, which has some of my favorite really delicate snowflake images on it along with BornPrettyStore White Stamping Polish. I finished my nails with a generous coat of Seche Vive Top Coat and voila!

I feel like pink and grey always end up looking really pretty together and there's a sort of coziness that comes from the pairing despite the very cool undertones that they share. I also really, really like how they work together in a gradient, particularly these two lighter shades. Overall, I'm really happy with how this turned out - even though I'm almost certainly going to end up taking this off really quickly because I'm expecting nail mail!

As always, don't forget to check out what Jayne, Renee & Eithne have going on their nails today for this last Pink & Red #CBBxManiMonday for February!

Thanks for reading!
