REVIEW: BIOTHERM Blue Therapy Red Algae Uplift Cream

by - March 07, 2019

When it comes to skin care, I have a wish list of products about a mile long that I'm dying to try out because I've heard nothing but good things. I'd heard so many good things about the Biotherm Blue Therapy Red Algae Uplift* that I was dying to try it, so when I finally got the chance I absolutely jumped at it. Sometimes, those types of products live up to and even exceed your expectations and other times they're not what you had hoped for... so how did this one stack up for me?

Originated from the sea, boosted by Biotherm biologists, the uplifting power of nature with precious red algae has now been captured in an ultra-sensorial, rosy cream. With age, fundamental collagen and elastin-fibers decline significantly and result in a loss of skin tightness, less defined contours, and wrinkles. Made for the current generation of women who want to know how to look younger in a natural way - without recourse to surgery - Biotherm brings skin tightening power with Red Algae Extract. Envelop your skin with creamy freshness for a pleasurable sensation: Instantly soft and hydrated, velvety and smooth looking skin, illuminated with subtle rosy radiance.

When it comes to the creams that I use in my skin care, as I get older I find myself more and more drawn to a luxurious experience when applying them. Though function and efficacy are the most important things, I also want that aspect of luxury and pampering. On top of a fresh, sort of oceany smell (in the best possible way), this has a rich texture that doesn't feel heavy or greasy on the skin. When it comes to the experience aspect, this is absolutely one of the most beautiful creams I've ever used. Literally.

When first applied this does, like I said, feel really rich and luxurious on the skin, but it also sinks in really well and leaves a velvety matte look to the skin while also feeling really hydrated and smooth. It also has a nice plumping effect, immediately giving the skin a more youthful, lifted appearance, and the pink tone adds some brightness to the skin that adds to that. It's not really what I would call a tint, in that it doesn't add colour the way that blush or corrector would, it's more of a subtle brightening of the skin that just looks really beautiful and healthy.

With continued use of this product, I've really seen tangible results in how it has effected my skin. I find that the longer I use it, the more I'm actually seeing enduring hydration and positive effects. The longer I use it, the more my skin feels plumped and hydrated continually for a brighter, healthier appearance. It also feels really amazing. It's kind of hard to really explain that plump feeling to the skin, but it's really like it's lifted and more elastic.

Have I really underscored how obsessed I am with this cream? I feel like it's one of those very rare game changers that stands head and shoulders above other products that I've genuinely loved using. It's a little bit of a spend, so I would personally recommend it for more mature skin, but I think that if you're really looking for a cream that feels indulgent and luxurious and has solidly amazing effects, this is the number one for me. I love it. I'm obsessed with it. And I'm already planning on repurchasing once I finish this jar. Seriously, you guys, this is an amazing cream.

The Biotherm Blue Therapy Red Algae Uplift Cream* is widely available wherever Biotherm is sold and retails for $89CAD for a 50ml jar.
