MANI MONDAY: Pastel Smoosh Easter Egg Nails

by - April 15, 2019

Hey guys! This upcoming weekend is Easter, so of course me and the #CBBxManiMonday girls had to get some Easter nails going. I have to admit, I really struggled with what to do for this mani and tried out a few things that just didn't work and were taken off pretty much immediately. In those situations, what tends to work best for me is to go with what I know and doing that in this case resulted in what I think is a pretty damn cute mani that I'm calling my Pastel Smoosh Easter Egg Nails

Keep reading to see how I got this look!

I started with a thin coat of Sally Hansen + Crayola Insta-Dri in Canary, which is the yellow from last year's pastel collection. For the smoosh, I went in with Canary, Pure Ice Laven-Dare (pastel blue/grey), Pure Ice Sweet Serenity (pastel lavender), and a teensy bit of Color Club East Austin (pastel neon coral). I was really careful with East Austin because it's quite a bit brighter than the really pale pastel shades and could really easily have overtaken the look. I smooshed these colours onto the nails using my NailStuff.ca Clear Stamper until I got the desired marble and let dry completely.

For the stamping, I wanted white, so I used Maniology Bam White Stamping Polish, which showed up well but not too stark. For my first and middle finger, I used the Maniology (Bundle Monster) + elleandish BM-XL201 Stamping Plate, for my ring finger I used the polka dot image from the BM-XL01 Stamping Plate, and for the pinkie I used the Hehe 029 Stamping Plate. I wanted each nail to be different but to be in sort of alternating vibes that would all call to sort of cute Easter Egg patterns.

I finished with one coat of Sinful Colors Matte Top Coat, because in my mind Easter Eggs are never shiny and I've had a lot of success with this top coat over stamping because it doesn't smudge the stamping as long as I'm careful. And voila!

I'm super excited to get down to spring nails after such a long winter. (Of course, as I type this, it's full out snowing outside here in Winnipeg, so winter's last hurrah is still hitting us.) Come back next week, though, for another Easter nail art look!

Also, be sure to head over to Cosmetic Proof, See The World In PINK, and Tea & Nail Polish to see what the rest of the girls put together for this week's Easter themed #CBBxManiMonday!

Thanks for reading!
