REVIEW: BeautyBigBang XL-057 Stamping Plate
I've been so happy with the BeautyBigBang Stamping Plates that I've tried out in the past year or so that I find I really can't stop continuing to order more. My most recent order was a few different stamping plates that I'd had my eye on along with some of their Top Grade Duochrome Flakies. If you're interested in seeing a review and swatches of the flakies, just let me know because I'd love to share them with you! For now, though, let's focus on the Beauty Big Bang XL-057 Stamping Plate!

The Beauty Big Bang XL-057 Stamping Plate is described as a kaleidoscope flower themed plate. It contains 14 full sized images in what I would have described as mandala style images, with the pattern coming out in a sort of circle from a center point somewhere within the image, but I guess kaleidoscope works as well.
I feel like there's a really good amount of variety with the images in this plate even though they all live in a very distinct theme. One issue I tend to have with mandala type plates is that while they have beautiful images, they tend to be very much in the same vibe, but with this plate I feel like there's a good amount of different types of images so that you could get really different types of looks. I also like that four of the images have open edges, making them perfect for only covering part of the nail - again, adding to the versatility of the plate.
I feel like this is one of those plates that definitely requires the right stamper to get the best performance from the images. I tried out a few with this palette and the one that worked the best was definitely a stickier option, which is what I used to take these swatches. That's one issue that I have had with BeautyBigBang plates, sometimes they're a little finicky when it comes to the stamper. If you have a plate that you can't get to pick up as crisply as you'd like, I'd definitely recommend trying out a different stamper.
For this mani, I paired a drybrush smooshy base in blue, lavender and white with white stamping for this really soft mandala design. I feel like a great way to use this plate is to add simple stamping on top of a multicoloured base for a sort of batik look on the nails.
For this mani, I wanted to go in the opposite direction colour wise, so I started with a rich raspberry holo base (OPI Extravagance is one of my all time favorite polishes) and then added gradient stamping using bright orange, rusty red, and bright fuscia chrome polishes. I have to say... I'm kind of in love with how this turned out and I think it's mani with amazing payoff for being fairly quick and easy.

Overall, I'm really, really happy with this plate and can't wait to see what else I can do with it. I have some ideas, for sure, from reverse stamping to pairing a bunch of different images in the same mani, and I really feel like this is a plate I'm going to get a lot of use out of.
