12 NAILS OF HALLOWEEN: Grungy Neon Bat Nail Art

by - October 16, 2019

I have to admit that when it comes to Halloween nail art, I tend to be really, really drawn to the pairing of purple and green - if you haven't already noticed that from the nail art that I've already done. I think there's just something super bang on about that colour combination for this time of year, so for today's #12NailsOfHalloween mani, I went full stop with it and paired neon purple and green with some multichrome flakes and some grungy stamping.

Keep reading to see how I got this look!

I really wanted to pair a deep neon purple with a really lime green for the stamping for this look, so I started by applying two coats of Color Club Disco Dress, which is one of those neon purples that looks quite different in different lights. Once the second coat of Disco Dress was nearly dry, I used my NailStuff.ca Clear Stamper* to apply a thin and scattered coat of BeautyBigBang Chameleon Top Grade Flakes 06 to the nails to add some grungy dimension to the base.

For the stamping, I used Hit The Bottle Slime After Slime Stamping Polish, which is a bright lime green polish that might not be quite neon but really, really pops over the purple base. For my ring finger, I used this skull image from the BeautyBigBang04 Stamping Plate* because I felt like this particular image went really well with the grunge theme. For my middle finger, I used the sort of splattered bat image from the BeautyBigBang XL-091 Stamping Plate. And finally, for the rest of my nails, I used these smaller grungy splatter images from the BeautyBigBang XL-090 Stamping Plate.

To finish the look, I applied Sinful Colors Matte Top Coat to all of my nails because I think a grungy nail art look works best in a matte finish. And voila!

Like I said, I love a purple and green nail art look for Halloween and I think the grungy vibe of this one paired with these really bright neon colours is just exactly what I was going for with this look. That said, I feel like this could also work beautifully in a variety of different colour combos for Halloween!
