12 NAILS OF HALLOWEEN: Jade Smoosh Zombie Silhouette Nails

by - October 07, 2019

I'm super excited to share today's #12NOH offering with you guys, because I'm so thrilled with how it turned out. Sometimes an idea for a nail art design will come to me and I'll be obsessed with getting it on my nails, which can either work out beautifully or be a complete disaster. I'm super thrilled that after basically panting about getting this on my nails for an entire day after I had the idea, it turned out exactly the way I wanted it to! Like, really, this basically looks in real life exactly how I pictured it in my head.

Before I gush any further, let's get on to my Jade Smoosh Zombie Silhouette Nails!

Ultimately, what inspired this was the tone of green and the texture that I wanted for the background, which just screams zombie to me and adds a real depth to the mani. I started with one coat of Sinful Colors Super Cooper as my base. Next, I used my Marble Smoosh technique using Super Cooper, Sinful Colors Works Like A Charm, and Sonia Kashuk Fatigued. Basically, I wanted three depths of the exact same shade to keep it really cohesive but add depth.

Next, I went in with several images from the Nicole Diary-L12 Stamping Plate and Maniology Straight Up Black Stamping Polish to build up the design to be exactly how I wanted it. I wanted the focus to be on the zombies, but I also didn't want there to be too much dead space that would ultimately make the design feel sparse. On a whim, I also used the BornPrettyStore Halloween S002 Stamping Plate along with a combination of Maniology Bam! White Stamping Polish and Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Show Steeler for the moon.

Once the stamping was complete the way I wanted it, I went in with a coat of Sinful Colors Matte Top Coat to seal in the stamping and finished with a generous coat of Seche Vive Quick Dry Top Coat to finish and... voila!
