I have to say, it's a really good thing that our #CBBxManiMonday theme for this month is Whatever November, because I honestly don't know if I could stick to any real theme right now. For this week's Mani Monday, I was actually just digging around in my polish collection and pulling things out and I realized that these two polishes that it never would have occurred to me to pair in a million years might kind of be brilliant together. It all sort of just built from there.

I honestly don't know how I ended up even considering pairing Sinful Colors' Nude Mood with Starrily's Moon Glow, but there was something about the shimmers that hide in these formulas that just went together - although that ended up kind of moot at the end of the day since I made it matte. But still I feel like this beigey grey pairs really well with this super rich plum, whether the finish is matte or glossy. I ended up being able to only do one coat of each of these as a base for this mani, which was extra great since I was going for something quick. 

I knew going into this that Nude Mood would stamp because I've used it for stamping before, but I had to do a little bit of a test with Moon Glow and I was pretty impressed at how it showed up at the end of the day. I wanted to keep the design simple and a little bit graphic, but not too crisp or fussy, so I went with this image from the What's Up Nails B059 Thirsty Texture stamping plate. I used the same image on the two middle nails, just in the opposite direction, and I felt like it really bridged the half and half base I had painted.

Once I was happy with the stamping, I sealed it in with a water based top coat and then followed with a matte top coat to bring down the shine and give a velvetiness. And voila!

I have to be honest, 202 has really been wearing on me and as I sit here writing this... I just feel tired and a little bit I think this week's nail art - muted tones, simple design - is a pretty clear reflection of that. Anyone else feeling tired all the way down to your DNA?
