NAIL ART: Pink & Blue Spring Cherry Blossom Nails

by - April 05, 2021

SPRING!!! We had our first bonfire this past weekend and got to see some friends (outside, distanced and masked) that we haven't seen in about 6 months. I am so very much here for spring. I'm also really, really excited for spring nail art - which is our #CBBxManiMonday April theme! Today's mani is pretty much as spring as it gets, as far as I'm concerned... You know, other than the fact that the base polish I used is called Snow Globe (although that's also pretty springy here in Winnipeg as well.)

I've actually had ILNP's Snow Globe, from their 2020 Holiday collection, around since around Christmas and I had every intention of using it for some cold, wintery nails... but then I just never got around to it. This polish is a really pretty, creamy blue base with gold flakes and I think it definitely works perfectly from winter and into spring. For this mani, I applied two coats to all of my nails as my base.

For the cherry blossom stamping, I wanted to keep it a little bit softer, so I used a brown stamping polish to pick up the image and then a marble of a soft pink and a more midtoned pink to fill in the flowers. I really like the effect of the reverse stamping using the marbled shades because it adds even more depth and texture to the flowers but still maintains cohesion. I decided to apply the full images to my middle two fingers and then only partial images to the rest of my fingers because I feel like it creates more visual interest and delicacy to the overall look.

Once I was happy with my stamping and cleaned up the edges, I applied first a water based top coat to seal in the design and then followed with a quick dry matte top coat to take down the shine and finish the look. And voila!
