NAIL ART: Rich Wine & Mustard Brocade Nails
Some of my favorite nail art designs to do are the ones that are inspired by textiles and in my opinion some of the most beautiful fabrics are in the brocade family. As we're leading into the holiday season (by which I mean, I am fully, fully in it already with my Christmas tree up and my body basically fueled by nog at this point...) I felt like a non-Christmasy but still very seasonally appropriate rich brocade nail design was just the thing. Since this is my last nail art design before I go hard with Christmas nails starting on Tuesday, this felt like a good primer.

When it comes to the colours in brocade fabrics, I am always really drawn to rich burgundies paired with gold because they tend to feel the most luxurious to me. When it came to choosing the polishes that I wanted to use for this particular mani, there was definitely some hunting involved. Ultimately, I decided to grab for a vampy sort of burgundy with a strong shimmer to it and then pair it with a sort of golden yellow créme stamping polish because I'm personally just not a huge fan of shimmery stamping if I can help it. Rich & Brazilian from OPI is pretty old at this point (the Breakfast At Tiffany's Collection is from Holiday 2016) but it's a favorite in my collection and gives me just what I was looking for in this design.
For this mani, I applied two coats of Rich & Brazilian to all of my nails and let them dry down completely.
As I said, I decided to go with a sort of golden yellow shade for the stamping and I'm actually super, super impressed at how this KADS stamping polish that I used showed up over this really deep base polish. For the brocade design, I grabbed for the Hit The Bottle Material World 01 Stamping Plate, which has a really awesome selection of different textile designs and is a plate that I think pretty much any collection could benefit from including. For this mani, I chose to pair two images that are pretty distinctly different but that also really work cohesively together for this brocade look. I alternated them on the nails to add some interest to the design and, again, really bring some cohesion.
Once I was happy with the stamping, I sealed it in with a water based top coat and then followed with a quick dry glossy top coat to add shine and volume, really popping that base. And voila!
