NAIL ART: Lavender & Rose Gold Botanical Nails

by - March 09, 2022

After my last mani from Monday's post, I couldn't resist grabbing for the sister to the polish I used for my base on that one. Of course, when I say sister I do tend to mean it in a within-my-collection sort of way since both of these polishes were from months apart in entirely different indie collabs... but still, they are definitely very much in the same vibe for me. I'm also very, very much ready for spring. In fact, I would argue that there has possibly never been a winter in my entire life when I was so, so ready for spring at this point in the year. So... lavender!

Keep reading for more!

Apologies for continuing to feature polishes that are no longer available, but I just can't help myself. Unwind from Cuticula is this stunningly beautiful lavender crelly base that is absolutely jam packed full of rose gold metallic flakes that have a really, really strong pink to them and it is, entirely unsurprisingly, a gorgeous, gorgeous polish. I seriously need to start picking up more polishes from Cuticula because their top coats are my absolute favorites and the polishes I've tried have been fantastic. Thus far, I've only grabbed polishes from Polish Pickup from the brand, but you can check out their website for new collection releases and they also have a Canadian stockist in Girly Bits, so definitely check them out. I know scented top coats aren't for everyone but I am OBSESSED, and my favorite top coat - the Limitless Quick Dry Top Coat - is also available in unscented. Anyway...

For this mani, I applied two coats of Unwind to all of my nails and let them dry down before I moved on to my stamping.

For the stamping, continuing with my plan to spend this month taking inspiration from some of my favorite stamping plate images, I went with a newer favorite using the KADS Fashion 078 Stamping Plate. The first time I used this plate and did a design like this one, I actually used two different full coverage images along with the sort of smaller botanical images, but I decided to go a little more uniform with this one. I started by applying this sort of wavy lines image to all of my nails in a rose gold stamping polish. The rose gold polish ended up appearing a little bit more champagne than usual on this one since those rose gold flakes in the base polish are quite a bit more pink than this polish. Next, I used a really rich royal purple stamping polish to apply the little branch images at the corners of the nails. I just sort of wing this, focusing more stamping on the middle nails and keeping it a little more delicate with the outer nails.

Once I was happy with my stamping, I went in with a nail art top coat to seal it in and then followed with, of course, the Cuticula Limitless Quick Dry Top Coat for shine and volume. And voila!

I really am loving reaching for stamping plates that I've loved in the past, though I will admit that I came away from this one with a different idea entirely for how to use this plate and even specifically the wiggly line image... so keep an eye out and there might be another one featuring this image coming soon. Also, I really can't understate just how much I've been loving Cuticula lately, so I definitely recommend checking out their polishes and top coats if you haven't already!
