NAIL ART: Graphic Burgundy & Peach Stamped Nails
My stamping plate collection has continued to grow and grow over the years and it's gotten to the point now where I definitely have some plates in my collection that I haven't gotten around to trying out yet and I really want to put in an effort to finally pull them out and use them this year. One of those plates is KADS Fashion 094, which is admittedly sort of a weird plate that I knew I wanted in my collection but I wasn't entirely sure how I was going to use. I finally pulled it out for this mani and I really couldn't be more thrilled about this first design that I created using it.

The color story for this mani was actually inspired by the full cover image I used on my outer nails. It reminded me of ceramic tiles a little bit, for some reason, and that led me to thinking about terracotta, which ultimately led to me grabbing for these polishes. I started by applying 2 coats of Dimension Nails' Dilophosaurus**, which is a rich burgundy créme shade that definitely leans a little more plummy generally than it ended up looking in this mani. Next, I went in with one coat of Holo Taco's Solar Unicorn Skin, which is a very warm iridescent flakie topper and I think is the main culprit for warming up the tone of the base polish.
For the stamping, I knew that I wanted to keep the middle nails really simple and almost sparse while using this sort of textile style full cover image for my outer nails. For the outer nails, the image was a little bit too short to cover my nail in one go, so I started by applying it at the base and then restamped to fill it the rest of the nail at the tip. This image was actually really, really easy to join up seamlessly. For the middles, I chose these really simple single flowing lines and applied them at the center of each nail. It ended up feeling a little bit unfinished at this point, so I then went in with a dotting tool and my stamping polish and just added three dots at one corner of each nail and I think it really gave me just that little bit more detail to pull everything together.
Once I was happy with my stamping, I sealed everything in with a nail art top coat and then finished with a layer of matte top coat to bring down the shine. And voila!

Not gonna lie, I didn't actually have the highest of hopes that I was going to love this design going in, but I'm actually kind of obsessed with how it turned out. The color story feels sort of fresh to me, which could be because it's not one I've ever really done before, and I feel like everything just sort of feels really balanced with enough interest to grab attention without being too busy. Or maybe I'm just overthinking, which is always a possibility.
