NAIL ART: Speckled Green Tropical Leaves Nails

by - August 28, 2023

How is it already the last week of August? I very sincerely don't even understand how time works anymore. Anyway, for my last Summer themed #CBBxManiMonday, I decided to recreate a tropical leaves mani that I loved from last summer. Whenever I recreate a mani I've already done, I always try to change the color story and a few other elements, which is what I did with this one, and I think I like this one even more than I liked the first one, which is rare but very exciting.

I really, really love the speckled polishes from Cirque Colors and I've had Paloma in my collection for quite a while, but I'm not even sure if I had used it before doing this mani. It's so gorgeous though! Like the rest of the speckled polishes from Cirque, it features fine, irregular black specks that give it a really lovely but subtle texture to the final look.

To start, I applied two coats of Paloma to all of my nails.

For the stamping, I used the KADS Nature 043 Stamping Plate, which features 4 full cover images as well as several small leaves and wildlife images. To start, I used two of the full size images along with a stamping polish in what is essentially a darker shade of the green in the base polish. I alternated both the images and the direction of placement to get a unique look on each nail. Next, I went in with the single images and a white stamping polish. I decided I wanted one full image and one partial image on each nail, so I first applied the full image and then added a partial at a corner to give the appearance of the design continuing off the nail.

Once I was happy with the design, I sealed it in with a nail art top coat and then finished with a layer of matte top coat to bring down the shine and give a smooth finish. And voila!

I really, really enjoy how this mani turned out and I think it's a solid way to end the summer. I mean... stores are full of Halloween things and Starbucks has started PSL season, so I feel like I am finally allowed to lean into the fall of it all on my nails now, right?
