NAIL ART: Grungy Fall Abstract Patchwork Nails
I'm currently neck deep in that feeling where it's definitely fall in my head, but the weather is annoyingly and distinctly summery. Anyone else working with that? Anyway, the weather can't stop me when it comes to having transitioned into fall nails, so I'm going hard. Doesn't hurt that our #CBBxManiMonday theme for this month is fall either, does it?

When I was choosing the colors for this mani, I started with my base polish. KADS Rose Dawn is this gorgeous caramel shade with a hint of rosiness. It's more of a sheer jelly formula, so I did have to build it up to three coats to get full coverage, but it has this wonderful squishy texture that just love.
For the blobs, I wanted to do a variety of fall colors and because I was looking for very, very pigmented colors I ended up going with stamping polishes also from KADS. I went with a beige, a mustard yellow, a berry red, a squash orange, an olive green, and a sort of smoky blue to give a good spectrum of color.
Once my base color was dry, I went in with a dotting tool to add the blobs. I tried not to be too precious about it and just sort of dabbed them on, though I did keep mindful of placement so that each nail looked different. Once my blobs dried, I went it with a black spotted topper to add some grunginess to the base that I thought would work well with the stamping.
For the stamping, I used two different images from the KADS Nature 073* stamping plate that matched quite well. One is more of a full cover image while the other is a smaller image, so I alternated the placement of the two images. On my middle finger, I did have to stamp the image twice in order to cover the nail and on my pinkie I placed the full cover image only partially on the nail. On my ring and pointer fingers, I alternated the direction of placement of the smaller image just to give a bit more visual interest.
Once I was happy with the design, I sealed everything in with a nail art top coat and then finished with a layer of matte top coat to bring down the shine. And voila!
