I told myself I wasn't going to lean as heavily on snowflakes with this year's holiday nails and yet I can't seem to help myself. I just LOVE snowflake nails. Today's mani is another recreation from holiday season's past, one that I've actually wanted to recreate for the past couple of years but hadn't gotten around to. This year, I changed up the color story pretty significantly using a stunning reflective glitter polish from Whats Up Nails as my base and I am OBSESSED. There's a spot in my house that has the best light for making polish pop and I spent more time standing under that light admiring this mani than I might like to admit.

When it came to the color story for this mani, I knew that I wanted to use a bold jewel toned polish and pretty quickly I decided that I wanted to go with Plumingo Party from Whats Up Nails. This polish is just absolutely stunning both with the flash reaction as well as just in regular light and I think the color is perfect for a holiday mani - festive, but very much not on the nose. 

To start this mani, I applied two coats of Plumingo Party to all of my nails and let those dry down completely. 

For the stamping, I did need to pull in two different stamping plates for this mani. I started by applying one of my favorite full cover snowflakes images from the Born Pretty Christmas-L006 plate in black to all of my nails. Next, I went in with two images from the Beauty Big Bang 13 plate. For most of my nails, I used the single snowflake image once or twice per nail, applying the image at the corners. For my ring finger, I applied the full cover image with the ribbon and what looks like two different wrapping paper images in white stamping polish.

Once I was happy with my design, I sealed everything in with a nail art top coat and finished with a generous layer of glossy top coat for shine. And voila!

I just love this design and how it turned out. I think the unconventional color story is great for the holidays - still very festive without employing red and green or any shades of icy blue - and I think the combination of the stamping images works really well.
