Anyone else go straight into bath mode as soon as the weather gets cold? I swear, as soon as the temp drops in October, I want to have a long, hot bath pretty much every day to shake the chill off in that way that only ever comes from being literally submersed in warmth. Recently - and with perfect timing - I've been testing out the Live Clean Aromatherapy Foam Baths in Fresh Water, Tropical Coconut, and Lavender Vanilla*. I mean... thank you, blogging gods, for giving me a solid excuse to indulge in my much craved baths!

You know those weeks that just never end? My posting schedule has been a little off this week, because I am absolutely having one of those weeks. I've got the cold that won't end, the sleep that won't come steady, and a monthly monster in my lady garden. (Ha! Sorry. Lady garden. I want to backspace, but at the same time I don't. Monthly monster in my lady garden is staying.) Anyway, it was the perfect time for the arrival of some at-home spa products that I'd never tried before from Live Clean Spa Therapy*. I've always looked at these on the shelf and considered it, because I absolutely love Live Clean, but I'd never picked them up because I really don't buy a lot of bath products generally. I literally took a bath every day this week to try and soothe the beast, so it was the perfect time to really test these out.

I don't understand this idea that kids hate bath time that pop culture keeps trying to insist to me. I loved bath time! However... It's with great affection for my younger self that I tell you I was kinda a weird kid. Most of my strongest memories from when I was a kid aren't big events or anything like that, they're rooted in the make believe I played and all the stories that I made up. I was constantly in a state of storytelling and imagination that I think shaped the person I am as an adult. When I was little, bathtime was as much about imagination as it was about getting myself clean - perhaps even moreso. Bubbles became hats or beards or something that spoke to being like an adult woman from the movies, sinking down into a lushly filled tub while contemplating things that at the time I couldn't even understand. I remember when I was first allowed to run my own baths, climbing into the water while it was still running and holding my feet up as straight as I could and trying to let the water cover my toes. Somehow a deep bath filled with bubbles felt like I was growing up - even if it smelled like fruity cotton candy.

Recently, I had the opportunity to recapture the feeling of being that weird little bathtime adventurer with Demeter Fragrance Library's Mr. Bubble Cologne Spray*, and it brought me right back to that happy place.
