Prairie Beauty

I have to admit, it's been a while since I've tried a new matte liquid lipstick formula. I feel like a few years ago I was greedy to get my hands on every formula, but lately I've really been trying to reign myself in. However, I recently tried out a few of the Avon Matteitute Liquid Lipsticks* and it's sort of reminded me exactly why I loved matte liquid lipsticks so much.

Anyone who follows my nail art or really just my social media knows I've been on a huge Color Club kick recently and their polishes have become a staple for me in recent months, mostly thanks to being able to find their collections locally here at Winners locations. Of course, when I saw the brand new Color Club Matte-ified Metallics Collection and how gorgeous and fall perfect the polishes looked in the bottles I absolutely had to pick it up and try it out. I don't do a lot of full collection swatches here on the blog, but I really want to start doing more and this seemed like an amazing place to start.

For a closer look at the polishes along with swatches, keep reading!

Honestly, I have to admit that I don't know what made me pick up the COVERGIRL Clean Matte BB Cream For Oily Skin. The thing is... I don't have oily skin and products that are advertised as being matte can be a big problem for me. However, my skin gets a lot shinier in the summer months and I'm finding that since I take care of my skin so well and with so much hydration these days, I actually can get away with using a matte base product. I suspect that it might have been something to do with how much I absolutely love the COVERGIRL Ready, Set, Gorgeous Foundation, which comes in similar packaging to this one, that had me taking the change and picking this up. Seemed like it was worth a try... But was it?

So there are a lot of products that I've had photograped for ages and been meaning to review, but for whatever reason haven't gotten around to. Honestly, sometimes the blogger mind gets a little overwhelmed and things that get put off in favor of writing other posts end up waaaaay back on the backburner. Anyway, I'm trying to get some of these reviews out for you guys, even though the products aren't new anymore. To me, it's worth it to have these posts in my blog in case people are ever wondering about them in the future. I won't do this with Limited Edition products - because that's silly - but instead will just review permanent products that might not be new, but are definitely still available.

One of the products that I've been meaning to review is the Makeup Revolution The Matte Blush in the shade Dare. You guys probably already know that I love Makeup Revolution's powder products and I'm a huge blush junkie, so of course this was going to end up in my arsenal!

Spring 2016 has definitely been the season of new drugstore matte liquid lipstick formulas, and I feel like I've been eating them up! Of course, if you read this blog you'll already know that I'm a huge fan of liquid to matte lipsticks and have been going hard on the trend for the past year, so I was thrilled to see so many brands bringing affordable, accessible options to the table. So, how does this one stack up? I have some pros and I have some cons about this product, so keep reading to take a look!

I love trying out new drugstore foundations, because I feel like brands are always trying to up their game and bring something new to the table or compete with the trends that are happening in higher end products. Of course, when I had the opportunity to test the Maybelline Dream Velvet Foundation* and the Maybelline Dream Blender*, I was 100% in to give it a go. Now, to be fair, my skin is very finicky with matte foundations, especially in the winter, so I knew that there was a strong possibility that this wasn't going to work for me, but I'm always willing to try anyway.

If you're interested in my experience with these products, keep reading!

Have I been sneaky about the fact that I'm not the hugest fan of contour? I don't really think that I have. I think my problem with contour is that I've seen so much of it done incredibly badly and I just never wanted to be one of those people. I've done a little bit, but anytime I've used ashy contour shades it just ended up looking dirty and old so I kind of gave up. I definitely wasn't interested in investing in one of the higher end contour kits, since it was a makeup trend that I wasn't really into. However, for $6.86CAD, I couldn't resist trying out the Freedom Makeup London Pro Contour Kit in Fair. I mean... Could I? So anyway, I've been using this pretty much every day since I got it and I think I might finally be on the contour bandwagon - Just in time for STROBING, because I'm behind on every trend!

Anyway, keep reading for a closer look & swatches!

I admit it... Whenever a new foundation comes out at the drugstore, I want to try it. Considering how often drugstore brands come out with new foundations, this isn't the healthiest desire. Still, when I saw this foundation and read/watched a couple of glowing reviews about it, I had to have it. Matte foundations used to be my absolute favorites, but these days I'm more drawn to something that has a more natural looking finish, which can be hard to find with the kind of coverage that I'm looking for. Even when it comes to high end foundations, I have trouble finding the perfect combination of coverage and finish, but I'm always on the hunt. As far as price point, this is pretty high for a drugstore foundation. I've seen it ranging between $17 and $20, with the lowest sale price I've seen being around $15. For me, that's expensive for the drugstore, especially considering my most recent favorite is the Covergirl Ready, Set, Gorgeous foundation which is under $8. For me, if I'm going to pay over $15 for a drugstore foundation, it had better live up to my expectations.

So can the L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation tick all the boxes for me? Keep reading for my thoughts!
