EMPTIES APRIL 2015 - Products I Used Up

by - May 08, 2015

As I was photographing this month's empties, I really felt like I was light on things that I had used up, but I assumed that I just hadn't put enough effort in this month to really tearing through any specific products. Of course, then I was cleaning up my makeup room last night and discovered 2 bags of empties that had somehow gotten put in the wrong place - one from this month and one from... I'm not actually sure. SO while this month is a little light, look for a pretty epic empties post coming next month of all kinds of products that have been waiting to be featured in an empties post!
There's kind of a weird selection of products this month with a few ride or die favorites of mine, so keep reading for a look at (some of) what I got through this month as well as mini reviews!

1. L'Oreal Power Moisture - Moisture Infusion Mask
This is one of my favorites that I always seem to come back to. One thing that I really feel like L'Oreal hair products do right are their masks and I don't think I've used one that I didn't like, but this is definitely my favorite of the more affordable options. (If you're looking for one that's slightly more spendy, the L'Oreal Mythic Oil Masque is HEAVENLY!) I feel like this just really imparts a lot of hydration into my hair, leaving it really silky and manageable. I will always repurchase this, me thinks.

2. Michael Todd True Organics - Organic Lemon AHA + DMAE Toner
I have to admit it... I spilled this and I'm really bummed about it. See, I broke the lid so I had been trying to use it up, but I accidentally knocked it over and it leaked everywhere. Fun, right? Anyway, I think I need to get another bottle of this to try again, especially since I'm getting so into acid toners lately, because I feel like this tiny bottle didn't get enough of a shot for me to really know how I feel about it. Stay tuned!

3. GLAMGLOW YOUTHMUD TINGLEFOLIATE TREATMENT
Okay, don't get me wrong... this was a pretty good mask, but I just don't get the hype around it and I think it's overpriced. I was dying to try it, I really was, and I was expecting it to kind of blow my mind, but it definitely didn't. It was good, but I actually like some of my much lower cost options better. Sad. This is really sad. Still, I'm stoked that I got to try it.

4. NIP + FAB CC EYE FIX
Um. Don't buy this. It's basically your standard undereye brightener, but I found that it just kind of disappeared on me. Honestly, I didn't even really use it up so much as it just dried out because I was never reaching for it. It's not good. It's not overtly bad, but it's just... nothing. Very disappointing.

5. MAYBELLINE FIT ME Concealer
I believe I've mentioned this on the blog before and I'm still loving it. I had a backup in my collection when this one ran out and I'm currently using that most days. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that this is the best concealer for undereyes in the drugstore. I also plan on getting a darker shade to try a little bit of light contouring with it. If you haven't tried this yet... I do not know what you are doing with your life!

6. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Medium Brown
I can say with complete honesty that I've never loved a brow product as much as I love this one. Weirdly enough, I don't seem to go through it nearly as quickly as some people do, so I don't get too upset about the size. This just gets the job done and gives me really pretty, natural looking brows. I know I've talked about it many times before, but this is absolutely one of my Top 10 makeup products of all time. I dare something to come close to it!

7. Shiseido Facial Cotton
I've had this in previous empties posts and I always repurchase it, despite the fact that it's pretty spendy for cotton pads. They're great. They feel really nice on the skin and never feel scratchy, you can use them to apply lotions and creams with ease, and... Yeah. They're good, I love them, and I will defend buying $12 worth of facial cotton every time a year because it's worth it to me.

8. Life Brand Cotton Swabs Travel Pack
I actually keep these in my desk at work, because they're super convenient for mid day touch ups on anything that has smudged or moved on my face. Let's be real... Cotton swabs are cotton swabs. I'll let you know if any cotton swab ever blows my mind. I ended up refilling this container with Q-Tips from the GIGANTIC pack me and my boyfriend bought at Costco.... Won't be needing to buy cotton swabs for a good, long time!

So there's the piddly number of empties I got through this month, but check back next month for possibly my most epic empties post ever... Are you excited? I'm excited! I love showing you guys my trash!

Thanks for reading and I'll talk to you guys soon!
