UNBOXING: Ipsy May 2015

by - May 13, 2015

I had planned on doing this post either later this week or early next week, but my bag came quick this month and I figured it was a bit of a must share! Have I mentioned that I love getting packages in the mail? It's probably my favorite thing of life. I don't even necessarily care what's in the packages, I just want them to come to me. Anyone else? I think that's my favorite thing about subscription boxes and bags, because they just arrive and they're exciting, and I get to open them... And then I get to come here and be a weirdo and state the obvious. Anyway, this month's Ipsy theme is Jetsetter and I think I pretty much get it!

Keep reading for a look at what I got and my first impressions!

1. Peter Lamas Detoxifying Citrus C Facial Cleanser

Okay, so I clearly wanted the Glamglow cleanser, but I'm fairly happy with this one. I like products that contain Vitamin C for my skin, so that's a plus. Unfortunately, I have so many cleanser samples that this is going to be going into my sample box and probably living there for a while... but the next time I travel, I'm gonna be hooked up with travel sizes.

2. Bare Republic SPF 30 Mineral Face Sunscreen Lotion

YES. Seriously. I am actually excited about this because I've been looking to try some new facial sunscreens and I like the natural mineral aspect of this. Facial sunscreen is tricky, because most of them tend to break me out, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Also, this smells like marshmallowy deliciousness... I think, anyway. I'm bad at describing smells.

3. Luxie Beauty Tapered Blending Brush 205

YES. I love when I get brushes from subscription boxes and bags, they're definitely one of my favorite things to get. Also, you can't have too many domed blending brushes. This one is a really good size because I don't have one like it. It's not quite as fluffy as the Sonia Kashuk one that I use pretty much every day, which I think will be good. I wish I hadn't forgotten to use this when I did my eyes this morning!

4. Chella Eyebrow Color Pencil in Tantalizing Taupe

Again, I say... YES. I didn't forget to use this one this morning and I can definitely tell you that I like how it performs. This eyebrow pencil has a really small tip, which helps to give a really natural looking brow without having to do much work, and this shade works really well for me. I think, actually, that it'll really work well on a lot of different people. I don't know if this could replace my Anastasia Brow Wiz, but it's definitely going to take its place until I get another one!

5. Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Lip Pencil + Bonus Revolution High Color Lip Gloss

I really wish they hadn't teased me with the lip gloss in the spoilers, because I am very lip curly at these two little nubbins of lip gloss that I will likely never use for fear of getting it all over everything ever. The shades are pretty, but I don't feel like there's really anything bonus about this sample. Ugh. Anyway, I love the lip liner and I'll get a lot of use out of it whenever I'm doing bold lips or liquid lip colors that can tend to bleed. It's a good one, so I'm not mad. Just bummed about the presentation of the lip gloss sample.

Overall, I'd say this is a pretty good bag. I like the actual bag this month and I think I would be willing to toss it in my bag and I also think that I'll get good use out of the items that I received. I love a month when my bag doesn't have a real dud in it!

Another month, another Ipsy bag over... Check back next month for your regularly scheduled spoilers and unboxing! If you're interested in joining Ipsy, it's $10 a month, but $5 shipping for Canada, and I'd love it if you'd use my referral link!
