WHAT I WORE THIS WEEK - June 29 - July 3

by - July 03, 2015

I decided that I wanted to start something new here on the blog... though I'm not entirely sure how it's going to go over. Essentially, I want to start photographing the makeup products that I'm using each day and listing them here to give an almost real time look at the things that are getting a lot of use in my collection. I think it'll be good to have a solid look at what products are getting the most consistent use from my collection because I almost think that it speaks louder than any review can. I have a big collection, so there's a lot to choose from when I pick my makeup every morning, which means that the things I reach for the most tend to be my favorites.

Anyway, if you're interested in seeing what I wore on my face this week, keep reading!

FACE:
Royal Nature The Original Soothing Blemish Balm
Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer in Fair
Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Natural
Freedom Makeup Pro Contour Kit
Freedom Makeup Pro Highlight in Brighten
Shara Shara Feminine Single Blusher in Soft Coral

EYES:
Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara

BROWS:
Hard Candy Eyes The Limit Eyeshadow Primer
NYX Micro Brow Pencil in Taupe
Sonia Kashuk Brow Gel

Mondays tend to be really simple for me, so I kept everything really soft and just tried to make my face look perfected and naturally glowy. I'm still trying out the Freedom Makeup products, so I'm not quite ready to review, but a lot of these other products are solid favorites of mine. Also, I've been using the Hard Candy primer in my brows and I'm actually really liking how it works to maintain my brows all day.

FACE:
Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation
Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer
Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Natural
Freedom Makeup Contour Kit
Wet N Wild Highlighter from the LE Fair Trade Coffee trio
NYX Mosaic Blush in Spice

EYES:
tarte Tartelette Palette (Natural Beauty - transition shade)
tarte Rainforest After Dark Palette (Up To No Gold on the lid, Don't Turn A Brown in the crease)
L'Oreal Telescopic Shocking Extensions Waterproof

BROWS:
Hard Candy Eyes The Limit Eyeshadow Primer
NYX Micro Brow Pencil
Hard Candy Brows Now Fiberized Brow Gel

I definitely did a little more with this look than my Monday look, but I kept the eyes quite soft with a little bit of glow from the gold shadow. I was inspired by the wedding makeup I did for a friend last weekend with these exact shades. This is the day I officially decided that gold shadow just doesn't suit me at all and I probably won't go this again. This was also my very last use of this tube of L'Oreal Telescopic - but it's already been repurchased so it's all good!

FACE:
Royal Nature The Original Soothing Blemish Balm
Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in 115
Skin Food Buckwheat Loose Powder in  10 Transparent
Hard Candy Sun Bunny Bronzer Duo
Hard Candy Lit Up Highlighter Duo
Mariposa Blush Quad

EYES:
Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara

BROWS:
Wet N Wild Color Icon Brow Pencil in Blonde Moments

For Canada Day, I kept it simple and tried out a few things that are brand new to my collection. The blush quad is an experiment in dollar store makeup and the Hard Candy duos are pretty much the most exciting thing I've added to my collection in a while. Pass on the Wet N Wild brow pencil though, it's really creamy and much too warm.

FACE:
CoverGirl Ready Set Gorgeous Foundation in 115
Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in 115
Skin Food Buckwheat Loose Powder in 10 Transparent
Freedom Makeup Pro Contour Kit
Hard Candy Sun Bunny Bronzer Duo
Hard Candy Lit Up Highlighter Duo
Wet N Wild Blush from the LE Fair Trade Coffee trio

EYES:
tarte Tartelette palette (Force Of Nature as a transition shade, Multi-Tasker to deepen the crease)
Freedom Makeup Mono Eyeshadow in Gilded 220 (All over the lid and blended upwards)
YSL Baby Doll Mascara

BROWS:
NYX Micro Brow Pencil in Taupe
ModelCo More Brows Brow Gel

I'm having so much fun trying out new things right now, but all of these new things give me what is a very every day kind of look in my life. I'm loving all of these face products and can't stop checking myself out in the mirror. The highlight shade in the Freedom Makeup Pro Contour Kit is my new favorite for setting my under eyes!

FACE:
Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous Foundation in Shade 115
NYX HD Concealer in Fair
Freedom Makeup Pro Contour Kit
Hard Candy Sun Bunny Bronzer Duo
Hard Candy Lit Up Highlighter Duo
Mariposa Blush Quad (A combo of the top 2 shades)

EYES:
Freedom Makeup London Audacious 3 Palette (Pink & Brown daytime smoky eye)
Essence Lash Mania Waterproof Mascara

BROWS:
NYX Micro Brow Pencil in Taupe
L'Oreal Brow Stylist Plumper Brow Gel in Medium to Dark

I didn't even really think about my makeup this morning, I just started whacking things onto my face half asleeply... and I feel like it turned out not too bad. This concealer is brand spankin' and I think it might be a little too light for me, because my undereyes are highlighted like CRAZY, but I still kinda like it? I think I'm going to toss this mascara, because I think the mania refers to it being messy rather than giving me mad lashes.

MOST USED THIS WEEK:
Freedom Makeup Pro Contour Kit  (look for a review next week!) - 5 times
NYX Micro Brow Pencil - 5 times
Hard Candy Sun Bunny Bronzer Duo - 3 times
Hard Candy Lit Up Highlighter Duo - 3 times

Let me know in the comments if you feel like this is something you'd like to keep seeing here on the blog! I actually quite liked doing it... even though the lighting of the pictures is terrible because I have to take it before 8am and the light is awful! Also... You know, I gotta hurry and get to work.

Thanks for reading and come back Monday for my (slightly late) June favorites!
