2015 BEAUTY FAVORITES: Skincare Products

by - January 08, 2016

I've tried a LOT of skin care this year. Seriously, I feel like this has been an insane year of trying out new skin care products in my life. That said, my skin is currently better than it has ever been and constantly getting closer and closer to the skin I've always wanted. Nothing better than that, am I right? Sometimes I feel like the biggest part of finding the skin care routine that works for you is going to involve a lot of trial and error, and I feel like that's what 2015 has been about for me. And trust me, there have been some serious winners that got injected into the routine this year. Every single one of these has been new-to-me this year and I still use all of them consistently!

Keep reading to take a look at my skin care favorites for 2015!

1. Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloths
I love having cleansing wipes on hand for those times when I just can't with doing a full cleanse. I try to keep those times to the barest minimum, because I recognize the importance of a full cleansing routine, but sometimes you just gotta be lazy. I also really enjoy using wipes on days when I want to take my makeup off at the end of the day but want to wait until bedtime to do my full skincare routine. These were an instant classic as soon as I tried them and are now the only wipes I really have any desire to use. They do a phenomenal job of taking off my makeup and are soft and gentle on my skin when I use them. Honestly, now that I've tried these, they're the only wipes I would recommend and the only ones I spend my money on.

2. Clean & Clear Deep Acting Cream Cleanser
For a long time, I kind of figured that Clean & Clear was in my past, but when I got the chance to try some of their products this year I instantly fell in love with this cleanser. It does an amazing job of cleaning my skin deeply without being stripping or harsh. It leaves my skin feeling cool and refreshed, which makes it my go to morning cleanser, and I have already repurchased this because it's the only cleanser I really want to reach for anymore. Like I said in my original post, if you're like me and thought Clean & Clear was just for teenagers, this cleanser really is worth a second look.

3. Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid
HOLY GRAIL. I swear, this product has done absolutely amazing things for my skin and I absolutely don't ever want to be without it again. I use this post cleanse and generally before a skin balancing mist and I'm finding that since I've been using it consistently as a part of my nighttime skin routine, my skin has been better than it has been in my entire adult life. This is one of those cult products that everyone raves about, and I'm tossing my hat in the ring on that as well. Amazing.

4. THEFACESHOP Chia Seed Soothing Mist Toner
I pretty much instantly fell in love with this mist and used it every single day from the day I got it until I eked the last drops from the bottle. This is just so refreshing and lovely on the skin that it's a joy to use. I honestly don't know if it's actually made a huge difference in my skin, but I enjoy using it so much and find it to be such a great part of my skincare routine that I will continue to repurchase this over and over. I also like to use this to refresh my makeup throughout the day and give me a little hit of hydration when my skin is feeling parched. Can't say enough good things about this product.

5. VICHY Idéalia Life Serum Skin Idealizer
This is another one of those products that I had been dying to try but hadn't pulled the trigger on until this year. Honestly, I had tried this serum on the back of my hand more times than I could count. I used this every day while I had it and I loved what it did for my skin. I really feel like it helped me to look more awake and vibrant while giving my skin a good hit of moisture. I definitely have every intention of repurchasing this soon, as soon as I work through some of the other serums that I'm trying out at the moment.

Anyone who has consistently been reading the blog over the past year will recognize all of these from reviews, favorites posts, and empties because they all got really consistent use this year. All of these will be repurchases for me (and some of them already are) and I would recommend trying them to a wide range of different people with different skin types!

Thanks for reading and look for more 2015 favorites next week here on the blog!
