EMPTIES: August 2016
You guys... This is a BANNER month for empties over here. It's not that I have an epic number of empties or anything, I really don't, but for the first time ever I have more makeup empties than any other kind of empties. There's also no shampoo, body wash, etc. in this empties. Madness, right? I've got some serious favorite products in this month's empties as well, so I'm a weird combination of excited to share them with you guys and seriously bummed that I've run out of them.
Keep reading to see what I used up!
CHANEL La Solution 10 De Chanel Sensitive Skin Cream
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I'm so sad that this is empty. In fact, I'm so sad about it that I've seriously considered going at the bottle with a knife to try to slice it open and suck the last juices of product out of here. Too much? Seriously, I'm a little bit in love with this moisturizer, which I was sent to review as part of the Elle Beauty Grand Prix Jury. It's just perfection. It's really hydrating without being heavy, it doesn't irritate my skin at all, and when I use it my skin always looks extra good. I would have liked to make this one last, just because it's both amazing and very expensive, but I just couldn't stop using it. Bring me the knife!
VICHY Aqualia Thermale Extrasensitive (Review)
This is another great product that I've loved using. I'm beginning to think I should look more into moisturizers for sensitive skin, since these two worked so well for me. This was one of my favorite moisturizers to use during the day because it packed a huge punch of moisture without feeling heavy or disrupting my makeup. Because this one is a little less... you know, over $100 a bottle (ughnnn Chanel!), I'm definitely going to be picking this up again and putting it back into my routine.
Guerlain Abeille Royale Serum
You know, when I started using this, I was expecting it to blow my mind and give me some serious results, but it really didn't. I used it consistently for a couple of weeks and my skin looked good, but I wasn't blown away with and I think I have other serums that perform just as well, so it's pretty unlikely that I'll buy this in full size. Still, I liked it and I'm glad I tried it.
Maybelline FIT Me Matte + Poreless Foundation in Shade 115
So I really didn't think I was going to like this when it came out because I really struggle with mattifying base products, but I really, really love it and I enjoyed using it enough that I've actually already repurchased it. I think this is really just a no brainer foundation for me. It applies really nicely, has good coverage, and wears really well on my skin despite the matte factor. This gets a thumbs up from me.
CoverGirl Ready, Set Gorgeous Oil Free Foundation in Shade 115 (Review)
This is another drugstore foundation that I just absolutely love. This is either my second or third tube of it and I'm consistently happy with how my makeup looks when I wear this foundation. I really don't know what more I can say about this other than I will absolutely repurchase this, without question.
Maybelline FIT Me Concealer in 15 Fair
God, I don't know how many tubes of this I've been through since I started using it, but I've already got another one on the go and I'm still consistently happy with how it looks under my eyes. If you haven't tried this yet, I don't know what you're waiting for. In my opinion, Maybelline does concealer better than any other brand in the drugstore and they're just so affordable!
Annabelle Skinny Brow Liner in Universal Taupe
I've got so many of these, because they went on sale at Shoppers Drug Mart a while back and I loaded up on a few different shades to see which one I liked best. Ultimately, I definitely think Universal Taupe works best on me and I think this is the second pencil in this shade that I've gotten through. It's not as long wearing as I might prefer, but it gets me through the day and my brows look really natural and well shaped when I use it.
L'Oreal Brow Stylist Definer in Brunette (Review)
I really, really loved this pencil as well and I think it's one of the best ones in the drugstore (although I believer I heard somewhere that some people didn't like their second pencil as much as their first... which makes me wonder if they slightly changed the formula?) Anyway, this shade was a hair too dark for my preference, but I made it work and it did an amazing job at filling in my brows without looking heavy, and it definitely wore longer than the Annabelle one.
essence Cosmetics Beach Cruisers Waterproof Liquid Liner
You guys... THIS IS SO OLD. It's actually been dried up for ages, but I loved it so much when it was new that I just never wanted to throw the tube away. Dear Essence, please rerelease this product in another trend edition so that I can buy like 12 of them. XO, Trysh. But seriously... Anyone know of a really pretty metallic bronze liquid liner that could live up to this one?
Face Q Moisturizing Foot Mask
Shamelessly, I love these weird little booties of moisture and I have a feeling that I'll be stocking up on them come winter to keep my feet super hydrated. I always avoided this type of mask before, but since I found this one at my local Superstore, I've been converted. Also, who doesn't like an excuse to kick back and watch a K-Drama... Ahem.
THEFACESHOP Core Seed Purifying Essence
Meh. I used this on my trip to Florida and I didn't really have any significant feelings about it. I think I'd have to try it for a longer period to really have any feelings about it at all, because at this point I really just feel like I put it on my face a few times and literally never thought about it again.
Philosophy Miracle Worker Moisturizer
This is fine. It didn't work any miracles for me, but it did do a decent job of hydrating. However, I'm currently using the Philosophy Renewed Hope In A Jar and it's blowing this one out of the water for me, so if I'm going to go Philosophy again in the future it'll be that one, over this one.
And there you have it... Another month, another bunch of beauty products that are going in the trash. I wish that I could say that I got rid of more than I bought in the last month, but that would be a bald faced lie. Still, I'm really happy that I got through some of my makeup products and it's invigorating me to get rid of some more... And also declutter!
Thanks for reading!
